New Nightmare On Elm Street Remake

Morbid Side

Freddy Kreuger is slated to be played by none other than Billy Bob Thorton. I'm not going to jump to conclusions on them casting him, but being that Robert Englund was the only and only Freddy, I have to see if he can live up to this role.

It's not in cement yet, but its looking that way.

I just don't know how to respond to that, my first instinct was to laugh my ass off though.

Leave it to Hollywood to fuck up perfectly good movie franchises, all in an attempt to bleed some more money out of them.

good gawd, someone some where was dropped on their head as a child... wait, no... hit overr the head repeatedly with a hammer.... yeah, that makes more sence.... fucking ugh!

My sentiments exactly.

Hmmmm.

Actually, Thornton is an excellent actor. Should have won the Oscar for "Sling Blade."

Could be interesting.

If the script/screenplay isn't cheesy maybe.

Cheesy may be the only way to do a remake of this! LOL

Good point. We can only hope that Thorton can fit the bill since he is such a diverse actor.

I know they could have done more with Freddy vs Jason, totally dropping the ball.

So far I hear this is only a rumor. Go to www.joblo.com/billy-bob-on-elm-st for a little info. As far as Robert Englund playing Freddy in a remake, I don't think it will happen. N. Being realistic, Robert Englund is to old to do this character anymore. I wouldn't want to see it happen but it will. Seeing that Englund gave Freddy such a great personality and charisma on the screen that made us love this series it will just make it that much harder for us to see someone else play this title character. Another example of this would be replacing Doug Bradley with someone else to play pinhead. No one could replace these characters with different actors unlike Leatherface, Michale Myers, or Jason, where the actors just gotta be big and tough.

I just hope in the future there will be new "original" horror Icons where our kids will grow to love but that future looks dim. Just my two cents.

This movie is going to the the new beginning

oh and to add a post that isnt me having a seizure, If Rober englund is to old the play the fucking character then i think Freddy is to old to do movies. Come on, he is and always will be Freddy, no one can top him.

And the Add on, i didnt like Freddy vs. Jason all that much. Though there final fight scene was enjoyable. But to me it just seemed like an 80's teen slasher made in 2000. I'm glad that whats her name from Destiny's Child was killed though, hehe

As a long time Freddy fan, I am quite skeptical.....

Yes indeed. If before seeing The Dark Knight someone told me that Heath Ledger was going to play the Joker, I would have thought that it was going to totally suck. Happens to be that the role he played was very dark and intricate, much more than the comic type behavior that Jack Nicholson played. Although both did a good job, Heath put more darkness into his role I think with the psychotic behavior.

Failure.
