MTG Night

PM me if interested and list days that work best for you. I'll see what I can come up with. I haven't played in ages and really want to get the night going again.

Bring along some communal snacks/drinks/alcohol/etc. and your favorite decks. If you want to trade cards with other people it is always best to trade early in the evening- as you will be less drunk and the trade is more likely to go in your favor.

The play is casual. As always for this group proxies are allowed, but we drink and suffer from CRS so if you proxy you must attach a printout of what the original card looks like to the proxy. If you don't have the original card there is a maximum of 4 proxies per deck. If you're building a proxy deck before you buy, just warn who you play against so that our drunk asses are prepared to read smaller print. Or, *gasp* remember a shitload of cards.

As always if you pass out on my floor, don't puke on it and you'll get stuck with more clean-up.

I need more play with my little mermaid deck, but if I do so, I must be able to play with someone who has at least a proxy type two deck.. so umm.. please someone let me know what proxy that you want, I can get them to look pretty much like the ACTUAL card.

But then again, I can mod my deck a slight bit to fit for multi-levels of play, and still get decent enough practice.

Yeah I'm interested. I'm not feeling all that well honestly but as long as i get the meds mix right and focus on the magic playing (rather than the entertaining or drinking) I'll be good. Just no one get mad at me if I avoid any hint of multi player like the bubonic plague.

I'm also pretty good at teaching the game if anyone is brand new and would want some MTG lessons. I also have a lot of trade stuff if anyone is looking for good cards. (My crap-card trade stuff is non-existent.)

Hopefully we can push people into Type II (Standard) casual play being assumed, unless someone is a DCI sanctioned judge and is going to run an event hehe. "Type Kitchen Table" tends to be unfair as that means you can use any card you can afford or use crazy combo decks that kill the opponent on the first-third turn, which at least for most people, isn't much fun. Or use unbalanced, broken cards that are illegal in most all formats. Not that it matters all that much at this point. One thing about magic is that its not Uno or Monopoly. Even the most "casual" magic game is far more involved than Euchre and assumes a certain level of "serious gameness"

Proxies don't bother me as long as they are GOOD proxies, that is, printed out proxies with the text and such clearly visible. Best way is to buy some card sleeves and put a dummy card behind the printed out piece of paper.

Tuesday or Thursday are both fine, just depends on my energy level, not the day particularly. Honestly looking forward to it, sounds fun. (I randomly moved this topic to nightlife, and then back here again with a link, just to maybe get some additional eyeballs)

Time... Usually its supposed to start at 6pm and ends when people pass out on the couch. Many players have been known to arrive after midnight. (they win pretty easy then, mostly due to the alcohol intake of the other players)

Random aside.. if we want something to start at X time, i just tell people it starts 30 minutes before that, as virtually everyone seems to not know how to get somewhere at start time, lol.

I could start next week Tuesday I suppose. I should get the e-mail list out.... But, this used to be an event at my place pre-fire, so that's why I say usually starts at 6pm.

On a side note: My house is drug free. I support alcohol and ciggs and hookah, just not drugs.

It's every week, but the day of the week changes if my work schedule doesn't allow for the same day off each week. I talked to my manager about having either tues or thurs off each week. He doesn't mind that, because most people want weekends off.
