Shaving Off All Of Your Eyebrows

Has anyone ever done this? I get mine waxed and then do tweezing in the interim until I get them reshaped/arched again. I think it can look really pretty on some people yet on other's it just looks like magic marker lining. I know many of my Latina sisters shave them all off. I would just be concerned they would grow back very thin or uneven. Please share your experiences with shaving your eyebrows.

Guilty.

I like the flexibility of being able to draw them on however I want them, on whatever particular day. :) I can make them either soft and natural, or go all-out "drag-queen".

I'm afraid if i ever shaved mine off, theyd grow back hairier. heheh.... if i dont tweeze mine, they come in pretty thick.

Amanda Palmer of The Dresden Dolls has her eyebrows all tattooed. I think it looks beautiful and artistic on her but I could never pull it off.

I used to shave mine off years ago but being a coffee addict made drawing them on quite difficult.

Shaving while giving a rather smooth effect... makes them bushier...

I shave mine off because if I am caught during a thoughtful moment I am told they make me look angry...

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.

It is by the juice of sapho that thoughts acquire speed,

the lips acquire stains,

the stains become a warning.

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.

I don't shave mine.. but I do clip them with some special little clippers I have to control the afects of being old. I used to pluck them and trim to keep a nice shape.. but then I realized that they already have a nice shape... they just get bushy.. so clipping started.

I just pluck and wax them. I'd be too afraid to draw them on because I know they'd end up looking scary and uneven. Plus, I'd be afraid that they'd smudge or come off. I actually know someone who draws her eyebrows on, and she looks horrible, but I wouldn't tell her that, of course. She always looks mad about something.

Then again, I've seen some people draw on their eyebrows and look nice, like jynxxxedangel. If you've got the skills to do it, then more power to you! :)

I never have and never would. I pluck mine, and will continue to do so until I have a real job and can afford to get them waxed or threaded.

I think most people do a crappy job of drawing them on, like the girls in the pic Miranda posted, and I have to wonder what they look like in the morning with the eyebrows either washed off, or smeared down the face. But a few people do a decent job with them and I can't tell they're drawn on unless I am standing right next to the person. If you want to make that commitment to draw them in every day, and if your SO doesn't mind you waking up looking weird, more power to you. Sounds like way too much work to me.

That photo of keeping mexicans away from shaving eyebrows is hilarious. Personally I think they should try the Unibrow if they are going to that extreme lol

I just trim mine a very little bit with scissors.

I think if you want to custom shape them, that's fine.

I think some natural kind of look should be maintained though.

Drawing them on, in some sort of crazy design, that doesn't compliment the person's face/appearance, is ridiculous.

If you can draw them on, and make them look like they're real, then that's cool.

Although, some people I've seen, their brows look like they were inspired by a Halloween mask.

The first time I tried arching my own eyebrows I accidently shaved one off because my sister walked up behind me and scared the crap outta me and when she did that I turned my head and bam it was gone so I shaved the other off and most of the summer i didnt have eyebrows.

The second I mistakenly shaved off an eyebrow while arching them last year and I cant draw in eyebrows to save my life so when I to school I would check the mirror every period to make sure my one drawn in eyebrow was still there.

All in all I dont fuck with my eyebrows anymore.

I honestly can't remember when I last regularly had eyebrows.... probably before Dirty Show 8 / February 2007. I've grown used to waking up as well as going out without any eyebrows.

For the most part, people don't notice when I don't draw them on, and for the most part, I don't draw them on. The worst comments that I get is a comparison to Manson, which is not all that bad and not all that good.

As for drawing them on, I use a self-sharpening pencil (brand is unimportant, but I use Maybelline Unstoppable because it's waterproof and smudgeproof). I divide the eye into three sections using the pupil as guide. Starting above the tearduct and following the general shape of the eye, I draw a line upwards with the most force I am going to use (mind you, you will be gentle with your pencils) to lay down a thicker line. When I reach the vertical line that extends from the inside edge of the pupil, I reduce pressure to 50% and aim a bit more horizontally but not quite. When I reach the line intersecting the other edge of the pupil, I start to fade the line downward. It typically stops at a line defined by the tip of my nose and my pupil or outside edge of my eye.

For more natural brows, one should use two colors (a brown and a black, for example).

As for why, there was a period when I was fascinated with dolls and the Dresden Dolls. Amanda Palmer does not have her eyebrows tattooed on. She uses liquid eyeliner. See the music video "Girl Anachronism".
