A day of canoeing, anyone?

Just thought I'd throw this out there..

I live a couple miles away from Heavner's Canoe Rental in Milford. Canoes are only $20 for an entire day, and you can fit three comfortably in each (plus a reasonable size cooler).

Anyone have a few extra bucks, and the ambition/adventurous spirit/free time to go? :) I have absolutely NO plans for the weekend, so I'm hoping to find at least a few more people who are in the same boat..yes, that was supposed to be a funny. *rimshot*

Reply in this thread, or PM me, if interested.

I love canoes myself. Just not sure what I was going to do this weekend after I move everything into my house. Not even sure if I have help to move stuff to the house yet either so it may take me awhile. Hoping to hit Renfest this weekend at some point too.

Sounds fun!! I haven't been canoeing in about 7 years, and that was a completely unnerving experience due to all of the gators in the water!

I'll talk to Nightgaunt more about what's going on this weekend ;->

Bump.

Come on, I know there have to be other misfits without any family functions to go to this weekend! :p

I'd love to, especially since this weekend is payday however my boss's boss has decided that I am to paint the office over the weekend. At least I'll get paid for it but leaves little time to do anything else. *pout*

When are y'all going? Sunday or Monday?

I so would if I wasn't working all weekend. I haven't been canoeing since I was like 7.

I'm not sure..I was thinking either/or, depending on how many others I can find to go, and what day would be most convenient for everyone.

P.S. Here's another thing I hadn't considered before, but I was thinking about last night; it's been awfully droughty the past month or so. I wonder if there's even any decent of a river to canoe on? I don't want to be portaging constantly, like I had to last year!

Can I just swim along beneath the canoes?

;)

I think I'm going to take a little road trip down Garden Rd. this afternoon, and have a look-see at the water level of the old Clinton, before I go planning any further.

sounds like fun, but I can't make it this weekend. I'll keep my eyes posted for other times though!

Monday I can probably do. Sunday ... possibly. I really won't know until tomorrow or even last minute on Sunday.

If I had a little more money I would go,we used to go to Proud Lake lots of friends, beer, and weed, those were some kickass times,we always ended up at the dam FUBARED,LOL!!

Yeah, that's what I plan to do-- get drunk, sunburnt, and have a gay old time. I love how that dam has the portage rollers, so you don't have to hump the canoes all the way 'round it. Sure saves my back!

I just found out canoes cost more to rent, now. They've upped the price to 30 or 40 bucks. That's CRAZY! I think I'm going to start scoping out Craigslist for a used canoe for future use. Rental prices are skynormous!

Does anyone here have a canoe for sale?
