Astounded at how chipper I feel, for how early it is! I guess going to bed at midnight was a good idea (especially with all the housework I have to do). Today is my designated "autumn cleaning day"-- and time to get the place ready for the cold months.

Feeling COLD!! I had to kick on the furnace for the first time, this morning. Fall is definitely here!

like I just moved the wrong way and now my neck, upper back, and shoulder are in a lot of pain, and if I move, it's worse. Sometimes I really think it wouldn't be so bad to have a local guy I let keep me company once in awhile, so then I could make them fix me.

A bit shook up..

I just found a male Latrodectus variolus in my woodpile a moment ago, while gathering firewood. This is the first widow I've ever seen around these parts. He was promptly squished!! There are too many pets and young children in the area for a black widow infestation!

This has prompted me to post about how to identify them, for all you spider laymen's safety..they're HEEERE.
