As for the convention, I listened to most of the major speeches, same shit, different year.

There is something about Joe Biden (and his idolizing son, dude why didn't your dad move closer to washington and spend that 4 hour train ride with you?) that DOES NOT sit right with me. He is a man with a mouth, and most people that I have met like that are ALL mouth and NO action, I just don't like him.

The rest of the speeches I had the displeasure of wasting time on were boring, standoffish, or just plain bullshit.

But I will say this, I am going to vote for Obama, I believe him( I said I believe Mark! LOL) to be the lesser fucktard of the bunch, I'm just scared to be choosing the lesser of two evils, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth to just vote for someone because hes not going to fuck me in the ass AS much as the other guy. But if I don't vote, I can bitch when our country goes even more down hill, THIS IS FUCKED UP.

Something occurred to me the other day. Critics against Obama state that as the first black president, he would be open to assassination attempts. What if one of them succeeds? Then we'd have Biden as president. Critics against McCain state that as old as he is and with questionable health, he may up and die his first year in office and we'll end up with Palin as president. So this election isn't really a matter of rather you want Obama or McCain, or even the shared ticket, but would you rather have Biden or Palin as president?

Sounds to me like Palin is more about change than Obama can ever be. And she doesn't just preach it, she does it. She was elected because of her reform platform (reform is just another word for change) and what's the first thing she attacked and reformed? Her own political party! Now how's that for change? Change is only good if you make something better, not worse. To me, I think Obama will just make things worse. Look at his voting record. More often than not, he voted "present". Not yes, not no, but simply "I'm here". How is that going to change anything? Palin has an extensive record of all the change she's made. And what about hope? Hope is an empty word really. If you want money, you can buy a lottery ticket and hope you'll win. Or, you can formulate a business plan, work the plan, earn money, research investments, invest your money wisely, compound your money, and work for more. That's called tenacity and it wins out over hope every single time. Palin has proven tenacity.

There are risks with both candidates. Yes, an assassination attempt is likely on Obama--but there is no promise that they will succeed. Additionally, who is to say someone won't attempt to kill McCain? Also, there is McCain's age and health factors. Better just focus on THE ISSUES and policies. Please. Please.

Unfortunately neither candidate really grabs me as Obama seems to socialist and McCain is too much in bed with the fundamentalist right and against a few particular issues, while not "key" issues for me, i think would be really bad if they were to go the way the GoP base has been wanting for a long time.. I need a pro-choice, pro-free market (real free market, which neither candidate supports despite the rhetoric) and a strict supporter of the separation of church and state. (strike against McCain especially due the political apparatus surrounding him, but both candidates in general.).

I want less government social programs not more (strike against Obama) I want less government intervention in business (strike against McCain and Obama both) Universal health care is BAD in the long run for both medicine and the economy. (Strike against Obama) Obama at least talks like he supports scientific research more than McCain, which is what we really need, unfortunately sci research and development its not much of an issue for any candidate. (This would be advantage Obama to a slight degree.) The economy always being my primary issue, neither does it for me, but it would be advantage McCain if pressed.

In the final analysis I'm still somewhat "undecided" but will have to at least currently, go with Obama. Regardless of who is president 4-8 years from now, i REALLY don't want to risk another conservative judge on the supreme court for a lifetime; even though I do personally have conservative leanings in terms of business and the economy.

Staying to the issues would be a fine plan.. but people keep bringing up McCain's age anbd health... and seem to ignore the fact that he is in perfect health.

I was undecided until Obama named Biden as his running mate. I dislike Biden with a passion to begin with.. and the hypocracy of Obama naming a Washington insider to his his platform of "change" was the last straw that pushed me toward McCain.

im simply not sure, i swing to mc cain just cause he knows more. the older always trumps the younger with real life wisdom. and we need someone who Understands the economy. not just demands change like someone demands that a cat should be a dog. and with the way things are i want someone who will hire people who can knuckle down, and make change while still keeping the balence of it all intact.

the only thing that i dont like about mc cain is his STRONG foreign policy. sometimes i wish amarica just stop going to war for a while.. but then i have to remember our economy is part military, no military means huge economy hit.
