freydis Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Anyone here read Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse/Southern Vampire novels? Well, HBO has made a new series of them. And it starts tomorrow! I'll definately be posting my opinion here, what's yours? Heard anything?
Simon Bar Sinister Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 The 10 minutes I saw looked good.
Rev.Reverence Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 I do not have HBO... but I saw the leads on the Sci-fi... WOAH! I may collect these when they goto DVDs...
freydis Posted September 8, 2008 Author Posted September 8, 2008 Taped it on the DVR last night..... I am going to try and watch it tonight.
freydis Posted September 9, 2008 Author Posted September 9, 2008 So far, it seems mostly true to the books' characterizations. I dont remember the full contents of the first book (it's been awhile since ive read it), but the characters were mostly true to how Charlaine Harris wrote them. I like it so far.
freydis Posted September 17, 2008 Author Posted September 17, 2008 Episode two..... i think for the moment, i will continue to tune in. They're doing fairly with the characters. At first, I didnt think Bill looked normal and banal enough (in the books, it seems she makes a point of how normal and safe Bill looks, how utterly unlike your usual vision of a vampire), but maybe, its as good as itll be for being HBO. Heh.
Simon Bar Sinister Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Right now, I'm watching "True Blood-Lines" on HBO; it's about the real-life vampire subculture. Pretty good.
freydis Posted October 7, 2008 Author Posted October 7, 2008 OMFG. I dont know who's a bigger fucking idiot, Jason Stackhouse, or Sam Merlotte.
