I am curious how people make their decision.....

You don't have to say who your voting for, just how you came about your decision.....

I contrast what a Candide has said, with what they have done.

Every bit of bull shit and promise that comes out of their mouth (They all do it)

Their voting records.

Their Legislation written and passed

The causes they champion

How do they handle political defeat

but more importantly, How do they handle success

So basically, the lesser evil. lol

I pretty much do the same thing.

The most efficient way of picking anything taught to me years ago when I was merely a child...

eenie meeny miny moe, catch a tiger by its toe, if it hollers-

Kay, I kid, I literally listen to the bullshit coming out of their mouths. I actually decipher things saying "Okay, well this candidate not only has said what he's going to do but also how he's going to do it, whereas this one is just trying to be a celebrity basically and has only said 'America needs change' change change change...but how? Well, I guess I'm going with the first guy".

Yes, issues are important to me, but not as important as A) The possible future president actually STATING how he's going to change the country instead of throwing a bunch of feel-good shit out there with no statements to back it up and B) The harder to judge aspect: sincerity. See that latter one is always difficult however, because you never know when someone is just putting on a good fake face, especially since they are politicians after all..

Mostly I vote by the issues. I tally each candidate by who I agree with on each issue and the one with the highest score is the one I usually vote for. Ron Paul was doing a great job and Alan Keyes was starting to pique my interest but neither of them are on the ballot any more. When it comes to Obama and McCain, both get very low marks from me so it looks like I'm going with the lesser of evils on this one.

Snoopy/Woodstock. If I am going to go for a vet, I am going with the only beagle vet of World War I. Believe it or not, there is a story going around that they *do* get voted for to the point of statistical significance.

Seriously, I look at issues, not only the ones that help me, but the ones that help friends, and make our world a better place. The plans to back up their ideas of tackling the issues are also key. Those plans may not survive the first meeting of Congress who have to legislate, but hey, at least it was a starting point better than nothing.
