Synchronicity

In this thread, tell us about the synchronicities that you observe in your day-to-day life. Is it all mere coincidence, or is there a deeper meaning? Omens and portents and signs, oh my!

It's hit me so often the past few years.... hard to remember them.

I love synchronicity!! It happens to me a lot, it's all about being at the right place at the right time and recognising that something else has guided you there to that moment.

Most recent example is how I met someone about a month ago and discovering how we are so totally in tune with eachother and we both know that it was synchonicity that brought us together - quite randomly may I add! Especially since it was a last minute decision on my part to be at this event where we met - but I had an insistant voice in my head telling me I should go no matter what lol!

We know that we were just meant to meet, we are just not sure why yet, but time will tell! It's quite an electric experience

I've had too many synchronicities to mention that have guided me career wise. I just seem to find myself meeting the right people, and being at the right places at the right time. I just love it :)

I have found this is one of those... "if you look for it you will find it everywhere" concepts

Think about all the things that you think of on a daily basis (If you're anything like me, it's INNUMERABLE). People are always like "How odd, I saw So-n-so at the market, remember how I mentioned something about that person the other day, and how I haven't seen them in a while", sounds like a coincidence, and it just may be, but realize that you ONLY notice the things that are a coincidence and not the thoughts that you thought (which are even more) that DID NOT end up in a coincidence or "synchronicity" as you will like to refer.

Now with that being said, for a period of a month (not that long ago) I was in perfect synchronicity with the universe (my friend and I call this "listening to what the universe has to say"). I know it sounds like a bunch of garblie gook, but it's almost freakishly scary the things that were predicted/said.

It all started out with predicting EXACTLY (to the hour) weather patterns. I've been noticing this for a while now (when I say a while, I mean for the past two years). I would say something like.. It really needs to rain tomorrow.. (even if there's none predicted for the day) it would rain. Or business needs to pick up, we need a really big windstorm, and the next day or so, we get a huge windstorm. No, I do not watch TV, no, I do not check the weather stations on the internet, I just feel like I KNOW when these things are going to happen. I don't believe I control anything, but maybe that I'm more in tuned to what's happening with the barometric pressure? I don't believe it has anything to do spiritually, I just believe that my body can detect rain.

meh.. *shrugs*

A good illustration of the concept of synchronicity...

The French writer Émile Deschamps claims in his memoirs that in 1805, he was treated to some plum pudding by a stranger named Monsieur de Fontgibu. Ten years later, the writer encountered plum pudding on the menu of a Paris restaurant and wanted to order some, but the waiter told him that the last dish had already been served to another customer, who turned out to be de Fortgibu. Many years later, in 1832, Émile Deschamps was at a diner and was once again offered plum pudding. He recalled the earlier incident and told his friends that only de Fortgibu was missing to make the setting complete—and in the same instant, the now senile de Fontgibu entered the room.

umm...isn't that serendipity?

Serendipity is the effect by which one accidentally discovers something fortunate, especially while looking for something else entirely.

Synchronicity is the experience of two or more events which are causally unrelated occurring together in a meaningful manner.

The concept does not question, or compete with, the notion of causality. Instead, it maintains that just as events may be grouped by cause, they may also be grouped by their meaning.

In order to be synchronistic, the events must be related to one another temporally so as to rule out direct causation.

Happenstance is a portmanteau of 'happening' and 'circumstance'. It generally refers to a random event.

Coincidence is the noteworthy alignment of two or more events or circumstances without obvious causal connection.
