Msterbeau Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 This is an awesome video. Not exactly old school swing dancing but amazing to watch:
Joey Deadcat Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Lindy Hop is like the advanced level in swing dancing!
Msterbeau Posted September 28, 2008 Author Posted September 28, 2008 Lindy Hop is like the advanced level in swing dancing! Haha.. I could do it, if I wasn't such a clutz.
n0Mad Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Fucking phenomenal! I think the guy in the red shirt and the chick in the red skirt were the most comfortable together and fluid as a couple. The guy in the jeans was probably the best dancer and he and his partner did some amazing stuff and were probably better than the aforementioned couple, but they just didn't seem to have as good of chemistry. The first chick, tiny thing in black, was probably the most acrobatic and easiest to throw around. I'd want to see the guy in jeans paired with the tiny thing and have the chemistry of the two in red. Now that's a winning combo. I remember the Velvet Lounge in Pontiac. I started going there shortly after the opened and went on and off until they closed. That place was more of a haunt for me than City Club. I'd bring a date, we'd take a beginning swing lesson and I'd want to go back for an intermediate but for one reason or another that date couldn't return with me. So I'd bring another date, take another beginning swing lesson, want to return for an intermediate but for one reason or another that date couldn't go back with me. So I'd bring another date ... I think I know the basic three step better than anyone. lol Can you imagine if we got three pairings pretty decent at that and just broke loose at CC?

I used to go down to the Velvet regularly when the Tarantulas had their Thursday night residency. good times.

MarsDustDoug Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 I took 2 years of lessons. I bust it out here and there when I have someone who knows the basics and how to follow Id be so down to pull it out at CC and I'm due for one my quarterly CC visit
n0Mad Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Id be so down to pull it out at CC "Please, there are ladies present." Name the movie that quote comes from and win a prize. (Hint: It was spoken by Martin Mull )
Simon Bar Sinister Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Rammstein's "Du Hast" would be one of the best CC tunes to break out the swing moves to.
