It also seems to be more of a "Michigan thing." When I lived out of state, no one knew about Sweetest Day. Also, I know people who have moved to MI from other states and said that they had never heard of it before.

Sweetest day was actually started back around the tweenties I think for orphans. People would send candy to the orphanages. Thats why it was sweetest day. It ended then hall mark stole it to sell cards.

Then there was the times I walked to Club down Jefferson from Alter Rd. (Grosse Point City border) took me 3 trys...first time freinds picked me up in a car near Greek Town...second time a freind stopped me on the street 2/3 the way there, & bought us a cab after we did whiskey shots in a Ghetto bar...the third time, I had a pint of peppermint schnapps, the sky was clear, it was early * fall '99, I had cd headphones & 2 cigars...WHAT AN ADVENTURE...
