NO??

Then you have a pretty damn good reason to vote Obama.

(I have zillions of reasons to vote for him.

In fact I purposely haven't talked about it in other threads because I'd be spending

hours on some silly post, BUT)

If you want the most convincing reason to vote Obama*, it is that McCain tax cuts are aimed predominately at

the wealthy, and this below, from the non-partisan Tax Policy Center is where the Obama cuts are aimed at--

Per the Tax Policy Center, here is how Obama's tax plan breaks down for individuals:

$0-$18,891 = $567 tax cut

$18,982-$37,595 = $892 tax cut

$37,596-$66,354 = $1,118 tax cut

$66,355-$111,645 = $1,264 tax cut

$111,646-$160,972 = $2,135 tax cut

$160,973-$226,918 = $2,796 tax cut

$226,919-$603,402 = $121 tax increase

$603,403-$2.87 million = $93,709 tax increase

$2.87 million-plus = $542,882 tax increase

*I do admit bias.

Since moving, my pay has been cut 2/3 and Bean and I are really struggling,

and I have this crazy notion that some people, you know the ones that are making millions of dollars,

can afford to sell one of their 7 homes so Bean and I can heat the only one we have

---but again there's my liberal bias talking.

Or you could find a place that is more comfortable with your budget, or find better paying jobs, rather than wonder why people who've put in their own hard work should have to pay your way. Even two people working full time min. wage jobs shouldn't have an issue paying rent/utilities in a low income area.

Easier said than done.

We tried .... the economy is causing all kinds of nasty issues with the housing market and job market that makes that almost impossible.

Why are we concerned with tax breaks? Breaks or not, we're still being taxed and neither candidate's plan with dealing with this is favorable. We didn't even have an income tax until WWI and it went away when the war was over. It was reinstated in WWII and hasn't gone away since, instead just getting worse. We need a candidate who will eliminate the tax. Sure, the government does need money for it's programs so let's replace it with the Fair Tax or other options.

No, Obama's plan is ludicrous and no reason to vote for him at all. More like a reason to vote against him. And McCain's plan is just as bad.

I agree...

My voting has nothing to do with either candidates economic policies.... they both don't work

buy pleather boots and get over it?

yes, a lot of people have high pay jobs due to having parents that could pay for their education/influence. but not everyone. i'm not talking about getting rich, i'm talking about getting by. unless one is disabled, there should be nothing stopping two people from being able to afford a low income apartment off nothing but minimum wage, and as bad as unemployment is here in MI, there's still plenty of minimum wage jobs around.

do i think the rich should pay less percentage of their earned income than the poor? no way in hell, it should be equal no matter what your bracket is. do i think the rich should be paying for your heating bill? no way in hell.

what of them? i wasn't aware we were discussing them.

and i don't want to. my mother is completely 110% disabled. the system is fucked beyond all belief, and i don't even want to get into it because it just pisses me off.

but i'll tell you this, she'd be even more fucked over if we had national healthcare. considering the waiting lists other healthcare nations have, i doubt my mother'd even be alive if we had it here.

You mean like me?

Jump up and down, curse, throw shit, grit your teeth, and bare out the storm.

You don't call up Joe Millionaire and demand he come pay your rent.
