soldiers are to blame.

i was on eastern's campus yesterday, just outside having a smoke, when i was quite randomly brought in to a heated debate between two girls. afterwards, i found it so hard to believe that there are people that think like this i decided to post the conversation to see what other people think. i didn't catch either of the girls names so from here on i will call them: girl a, and heinous bitch (i know they are probably slightly bias labels, but i think they are accurate). so i'm outside smoking and i see (and can start to hear) girl a and heinous bitch walking toward me debating something,

heinous bitch: i can't believe you would be so naive to think that way... let's get another oppinion

girl a: no, leave the poor man alone

girl a and heinous bitch approach me

heinous bitch: excuse me, but, my friend and i are having a debate as whether or not soldiers should be held accountable for the war.

me: every one should be held accountable for their actions, i'm sure there are soldiers that have done things that they need to be held accountable for

heinous bitch: of course people need to be held accountable for their actions, the question was shouldn't we hold the soldiers accountable for the war itself?

me: what!? no... that's ridiculous...

girl a(to her self): oh god, not again

me:... i'm not saying i agree with this war, but soldiers don't enlist to start wars and ths war is not their fault. They enlist to protect our freedom and to serve our country, which i believe every one should serve their country for a few years in some way, be it military, police, fire department, teacher, or whatever, and...

heinous bitch (cutting me off): how can you be so naive, let me guess, your daddy was in the army?

me: umm, no... however both my brother and i recently enlisted with the air force

girl a (to her self): she had to pick a soldier... i need a drink

heinous bitch: so you're naive and a hypocrite, not supporting the war and then enlisting

me: well right now you really have me wondering if it was a good idea to enlist so i can defend your freedom of speech

heinous bitch: i hope you eat a bullet in the desert

heinous bitch storms off, girl a retreats while apologizing profusely.

now most of my brain wants to dismiss the whole thing as just one more stupid person that shouldn't be allowed to breed, however there is this little part of my brain that questions everything, and it's wondering if there might be some truth to what heinous bitch was saying (even if she was right i'm still calling her heinous bitch, there was no need for that much condescending meanness). so i am now curious as to what everybody else thinks

The only time I can think of when the individual soldies were "held accountable" for a war was Germany after WWII. EVen then, they had to have either worked in a concentration camp or have held a high enough rank to know what was going on. For most, the punishment was that they could never leave Germany.

Some people have so much hate an vitriol in them, they can't think straight. Heinous bitch is the naive one to think that soldiers are responsible for the war itself. Unbelievable. She gets two opinions opposed to hers and rather then start to rethink her position she just entrenches further.

You stole my answer.

I had the misfortune of living on campus right after I got out of high school and thought, for whatever reason, that it would be a good idea to live two hours away from my home, surrounded by kids who were fairly intelectually void and wanted only to party, living in a dorm sharing ONE room with a bitch, where there were tons of more rules than there were at my own house. I hardly lasted a semester! That place is ghetto/awful, and like I said, most everyone I met there was just going to party and were pretty dumb, for lack of a better word.

But, it's sad that Eastern isn't the only college like this. I'm sure there's tons of copies of the heinous bitch you had the misfortune of talking to all over campuses everywhere.

I got told about twice a week on Campus that I was being unfair to Jesus and that I was going to Hell...

The most important question though, is...

... were they hot?

Because you could have won the the argument by simply making a move on heinous bitch. THAT would have destroyed her day. lol

...I would have cursed her in return...

..BY THE WAY...I pray that you remain unscathed in your tour of duty...where ever you are taken to...AMEN.

...and amen.

Thank you for your service, brother.

I searched both Comedy Central's website and YouTube but could not find the video of "Marines in Berkley". Basically, the Pink Ladies or whatever that group of heinous bitches is called were protesting a Marine recruiting station in Berkley, California. A Daily Show reporter was interviewing one of the women who was saying, "We can be here protesting if we want. We have free speech and all."

So the reporter (who is an ex-Marine) stated, "Free speech is great, isn't it? Wouldn't it be wonderful if there was a group out there who would make sure your right to free speech was never taken away? A group of people who would give their lives for your right to protest like this?"

And the woman responded, "Yeah, that would be great to have a group like that."

You stole MY answer. Don't even get me started on this subject. I also served my country for 6 years in the Navy. The ship my husband was on was the first carrier to go to the Persian Gulf when SoDamn InSane invaded Kuwait in 1990. For those of you who were either too young to remember or for those of you who forgot, it was the USS Independence. I had to find out where the ship was from reading the newspaper. I understand why my hubby couldn't tell me. I was also pregnant with our daughter at the time. And no, the soldiers are NOT to blame. There're just following orders.

May God keep you safe & good luck. Forget what heinous bitch said. She's just talking out of her ass.

Personally, I think people like HB should be forced to spend time in enlisted basic training (any service.) If anything, the inevitable blanket party would be a great attitude adjustment for the self-centered frakwit of an individual. The chances of her making it a quarter of the way in any service.

But then again, that is me being a 8 years in, with time in stripes *and* brass.

i want to tank you all for reaffirming that i haven't lost touch with reality... but more importantly for the show of support, it really means a lot to me

She's just confused. Nothing for you to worry about.

It IS unfortunate that when you go off to defend freedoms, her right to spout off about dumb shit, is one of those freedoms you are protecting. The irony, I can tell, is not lost on you.

I pray for your continued safety.
