vampvonramm Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Has anyone noticed that video game ads on tv have relied on fancy video sequence and shows very little gameply, i do not know about you but if your tryin to sell something maybe that should be taken into account, anyone else notice or agree with this?
Slept with ghost Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 You have a point but at the same time we already know what to expect from most games. Myself and alot of gamers out there read magazines about games so that gives us some idea. Demos that can be downloaded for most games are pretty much the new advertisements for gaming. TV spots are really just there to remind people that a game is out.
Shade Everdark Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 The only video game TV spot that was ever worth anything, was the campaign that Square put out for the release of Final Fantasy VII.

Good point, they do mainly serve as a reminder of the games availibility, i just hate how some have these amazing awesome videos, and the gameplay is horrible, that all i was sayin, i dont even buy new games anymore the price of them drove me away, i can go out and get and older system or game a lot cheaper

With the older systems some people just cared about the graphics not the gameplay. This gen though there is no excuse not to have good graphics ( unless its on the wii ) and developers still try to cover up gameplay with visuals.
Riku Namako Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 just watch. granted, it was an ad for mario advance 4:super mario bros. 3, and unless you've been in a coma for well over 20 years, you wouldn't know what that kinda game is like, but srsly....everything that went on there(including the track, Hatsukoi - Mayumi Kojima) had almost nothing to do with it at all....

All of the running and jumping fit the theme of mario.
