If you did what did you think?

I definitely think the book was better...and I was scared that they were going to make too much of a teen flick out of it but....I LOVED it.

I plan on seeing it, but I'm going to wait until the hype dies down a bit. I'll probably go with a group of my co-workers who all want to see it too.

Oooh. Must find pirated version on the internet. :p:pirate: If it's not out yet, it will be soon!

I was going to go today but it's snowing so I'll skip it today.

From what I have heard.... its a vampire movie.... but the vampires can go out in the sun, there are no fangs, there is no blood, no nudity/sex, two (offscreen) deaths only, one kiss, and a neckbreak....

WTF?

*Goes to find his copy of John Carpenters "Vampires"*

I dragged Mr. man out to it last night. He was, predictably, in hell. I really liked it though and its inspired me to read the books!

And this...is supposed to constitute a vampire movie? Maybe a PG-13 chick flick vampire movie, but that's it, other than that if there's no fangs, blood, people can go out in the sun and nobody dies, it is not a vampire flick.

*pulls out Shenanigans Card and calls it*

In addition to the list of stuff Phee already mentioned. I think it's a must that I mention some more things:

1.) There's a full on game of Vampire baseball. Yes. You read that right. BASEBALL! Ohhhh.. Wow. You can hit the ball really far cuz you have super vampire strength. Bitchin!

2.) "Hold on tight, spider monkey." The main vampire actually says this to the female lead when they're about to go tree climbing. (Yeah. Apparently since vampires can go outside in the daytime they like to climb trees to check out the view...)

3.) Intesnse staring... And it's bad. Half the time you can't tell if the people are trying to hide a boner or if they have to take a shit. Maybe both... Either way, this movie is full of it. So much so that if you cut out all of the scenes where people are just staring at eachother and not speaking you could save about 30 minutes of your wasted time.

So, yeah. This movie was a piece of garbage. It's a definite waste of $9.50 and 2+ hours.

If you truly enjoy vampire movies do not go see this turd. You will want to stab yourself in the heart.

You guys have to take into account that the book was written for teens, and the author is a Mormon. She specifically wanted to write a clean vampire novel for a younger audience that doesn't have lots of gore and guts in it. The book is actually well-written and very suspenseful. I'm a librarian and have recommended it to lots of young teens as well as their parents. It's a nice change of pace to see something like this on the market. It's not for everyone though. People who want to read gory books or see bloody movies have lots of other options.

Well if you didn't like the book why would you even consider watching the movie to start with?

I can sort of see your point

on the other hand a vampire movie without blood, gore, sexuallity, violence.... For the sake of teens being able to see it... Sounds a little like making a porn without nudity, sex, or touching... so kids can watch it...

Diet, Caffine Free, Mountain Dew anyone?

so phee your saying every vampire movie has to be like everybody else predictable bloody with bad sex cough cough queen of the damned type movie which was horrible.

Why? its like having every band sound alike like all those mainstream rappers going on about cars drugs and money!

you have to be different once in awhile i was getting sick of the typical vampire movies but blade was a good movie series

Frankly, in my mind the love story was more important than the vampire part.

Good points...

I guess it depends on what one expects when walking into the door of the theater... Originallity within a genere is hard to pull off, especially one as strict as "Vampire Movies" or "Movies with Vampires"

Basically if one is going to make a genre film and try to break the cliche, it has to be done exceedingly well or else it falls flat on its face.

apologies to those i may have rubbed the wrong way concerning a movie they like.

i woke up extremely angry and am channeling this toward some movie so said anger does not manifest itself in more, very destructive, ways.

when those close to me are unfairly mistreated i tend to be out for blood, so um, sorry about that ... glad you liked your movie =^..^=

Haven't read the books. Don't intend to. Reading/Not reading a book does not qualify/disqualify a person from seeing a movie.

You see, I'm neither female, teen, nor mormon, yet somehow I found myself watching this movie. I felt it would be a good idea to accurately represent the film so that other people expecting an actual vampire movie could at least get a heads-up before investing hard-earned time and money.

I'm assuming you didn't make the movie or write the book(s) so there's no need to appologize to us because we didn't like the film (even though it was pretty funny). Of course, if you would like to give me my $9.50 back, I wouldn't stop you.
