honeymustard02 Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 I have a couple of friends (they're cousins of each other) that have the most annoying habit! When they eat, right when they about to swallow their food, they like smack their lips and lip click their tongue. One is way worse the the others. She chews with her mouth open so bad!! This drives me fucking insane!! I hate seeing peoples food while their chewing. I hate hearing the smacking sounds they make!!
jynxxxedangel Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 Obviously, no one corrected this habit when these individuals were small. Where I grew up, if you got caught chewing with your mouth open, smacking, talking at the table (until you were old enough to sit closer to the head), diddling with your food, kicking your feet, or horsing around-- you got a sound thump upside the noggin, with someone's middle finger. My folks didn't play.
aequorea Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 my roomate does that, it drives me up the freakin wall
Rev.Reverence Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 Whilst my manners displayed are directly related to the table setting at a particular meal; I find that gross. I would most definitely have to "withdraw" into my head for the meal, & would not seek to eat with them again. (I'ld say something if I though it would work, but as they are related, I think it is too deeply ingrained into the psyche, & would only serve to get them pissed off at you.)

My folks didn't play. i got close to the same treatment if at a young age around 3 if caught chewin with mouth open it was a thump upside the head witha finger like you said as i got older 7-10 ot when ever the person learned it was pop up the noggin one time then you lost your dinner the second time only took 1-2 times of goin to bed hungry with a headache to learn NOT to smack your lips or click your tounge and chew with your darn mouth closed
honeymustard02 Posted November 23, 2008 Author Posted November 23, 2008 The funny thing with me was it was my brother who ingrained the whole chewing with your mouth closed thing. Now it drives me bonkers with other people. Yea I think I remember saying a little comment to one of them once and they stopped for that meal. But it continues on. I do retreat into my head yes. Or I drink while Im eating with them I find the booze helps lessen the effect on me.
taysteewonderbunny Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 you should play some dinner music. like the squishy noises from bad porno. really loudly. whenever you have to eat in their presence.
eleven Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 i used to be hit with forks, no dinner, the works...I would like to believe that i am one of the most respectful people when it comes to eating...i chew with my mouth closed, i dont tend to talk with food in my mouth, i use the napkin religiously to clean my mouth....lol
honeymustard02 Posted November 25, 2008 Author Posted November 25, 2008 I remember one time I kept getting up from the table. It pissed my mom off to the point that she actually got rope and tide my ass to the chair. Lol She wouldnt let me leave until I sat down and ate.
