You own a Playstation 2 or xBox 360? I know I say it all the time, but I lost 70 lbs just playing those two games (since they are more addicting then a crack/meth cocktail) and hardly even dieting. It's a totally fun and easy way to lose weight AND pwn your friends by making them look not as awesome and skilled as you. It's Guitar Hero for the non-lazy .

Also, weight training. Make sure if you're dropping lbs to tone up! Many girls will think "oh weight training is for guys" and that is such total bullshit. I HATE seeing girls who have lost a bunch of weight and then they look all sullen and saggy and baggy, weight training prevents that and makes sure you look tight and toned.

have you been to city? lol everyone can dance there, well at least in there heads they can lol lmao

lol

Its fun just to go to CC and sit back and watch people dance.

Seriously, after watching some of the people dance there...you'll feel courage to dance yourself. But I still get nervous every time I first get there. :X

As for keeping in shape...

Just do like crunches and core exercises daily and stretch and all that jazz.

You can be like Cher and get addicted to DDR and lose weight that way too.

Oh, as for weight training, just get a few weights, like maybe 10-20 hand weights or something. They should sell that kind of thing at sporting places, I'm guessing. When I lifted weights alot, I was going to the gym where they had allllll the equipment, machines, and free weights that you want. There's places to read up on it alllll over the internet, different exercises, and techniques so that you can workout to your fullest. I'm a bit strapped for time atm, but later I can drop by this thread again and drop you a few helpful links, not just regarding exercise (which is my expertise) but dieting too (which I suck at, but usually most girls prefer to eat less then workout, this is something I've noticed over the years and am not sure why).

As for DDR, a new pad is $20, but you can find them for cheaper on places like eBay, and the games (alwaysss buy used games, I do, they're cheaper and just as good as new) can be bought at places like GameStop. Not sure the pricing anymore, but depending on the version (there are six games for PS2, Max, Max 2, Extreme, Extreme 2, Supernova, and Supernova 2) they're usually $15-30 used. I'd recommend Supernova and Supernova 2, they have quite a bit of recognizable songs, and Max (the earliest game) is the hardest. I love them all, personally.

People always wonder why I advocate DDR as opposed to say....running, for instance. The reason being, is I'm not sure if this hold true for you, is that running to me is BORING. Since it's boring, and my mind isn't being challenged or stimulated, the entire time I'm running/jogging all I can help but think is something along the lines of: "OMFG...this sucks, this sucks, this sucks, too tired, exhausted already, this fucking SUCKS, this FEELS horrible, and I swear my knees are grinding down to the bone". I also advocate DDR more, because as said a sentence ago, running is VERY high impact, one of the worst things you can do for your knee joints. Runners and soccer players almost always have shitty falling apart destroyed wobbly knees later in life to the point where they are crippled or need them replaced. While DDR isn't as low impact as swimming, it's not as high impact as running and is better for your bones. Also better for your balance and agility. And also is better because you actually want to DO it, since it's fun and competative (and emphasises on the player's skill and rewards you by unlocking songs), and hell...if you get good enough you can make MAD money doing it and be in DDR communities (I'm starting up a Detroit one, myself).

The only thing I must let you know about it, the pads are designed to be played without shoes...BUT DON'T. ALWAYS play with shoes, over time if you don't it can mess up the bones in your feet (I know this first hand). About two years ago I realized that my feet were getting messed up from DDRing with just socks on, I mean you wouldn't go jogging in your socks, why would you play DDR in your socks? Trust me, your feet are worth more than a $20 pad. I've been playing with shoes on mine for three years now, and not only does it still work, it works perfectly. So that's my last bit of advise for you.

Like I said, DDR exercise plan works because: It challenges you as a gamer so you only notice that you're having fun, not working out. It builds up self esteem and skill, can also go and show off in arcades and have everyone throw money at you thinking you're a total badass (it's called hussling :tongue:), can win money over time if you get good enough, is better for your knees than running, and moreover burns MORE calories than running, by far, and tones all of the muscles in your body through variation (running, for instance, isn't variated at all, you're doing the same motion over and over again).

And that...my dear, is the secret to skinny entirely. I was 210 lbs, trying every diet, every exercise plan known to man, every fad diet, anhorexia, running, swimming, all that. I pick up DDR, don't even watch my diet at first, and it is SO addicting like crack that I dropped 70 lbs and was finally in the body I dreamed about.

Oh, and lastly, you WILL suck VERY bad when you first start out. Like HORRIBLY bad, EVERYONE starts out that bad at the game, do NOT let it discourage you! When I first stepped on a DDR mat, I did the slowest and easiest song in the game and failed in my first 15 seconds, now fast forward four years and I am almost up to 8-9 "step" (difficulty) and the game only goes up to 10. So I'm near competition worthy, all I had to do was be diligent, determined, and not give up (i.e. the "challenge" part of the game, it's very mentally challenging and stimulating). A good site with tons of info on the game, and tips for beginners and experts alike is: www.ddrfreak.org

Yes and it's more tempting because it's not only 100% worth it, but by the time you're skinny, you'll feel like you should send Bemani (DDR company) a thank you note with some chocolates.

ddr! i want that game so bad

Too bad you don't live closer to here! People just come over my house, smoke, and play DDR all night. Usually winding down with a movie on the computer or some anime. Then you'd be able to play all you want for free, with all the equipment and all the games.

But like I said, save your money, it's not too expensive to start up playing (like $30-$60 usually, depending on the game purchased and price of the mat), and as I said, it's worth every penny and then some.

Now I'm debating on breaking out my DDR mat...

I still want a metal one. Its much more fun to play with.
