I love to skate, despite not being that good at it. Who would be up for a DGN night at the roller rink? I think it would be awesome to have all the goths take over a local rink! Kid friendly, of course!

Anyone with suggestions??? Bring 'em!!

How many roller rinks are left?

I can think of two: Northland and Rolladium (in Waterford)

...being this tall I do not think it WISE to put WHEELS on my feet...

.....but if it is convenient to get rides & such...I think I'll enjoy the hanging out part :p

I would go, though I haven't been roller skating since I was like 16. Y'all can laugh at me being a klutz.

There is also Bonaventure Roller Rink, in Farmington Hills. ;)

From the website:

"PUBLIC SKATING DISCOUNTS . . .

* Schedule a group to visit during an already scheduled public skating session for a discounted admission price that includes regular skate rental. Pricing/Minimums begin at 15 people."

This sounds like us.

What night? Personally, I prefer Saturday nights because I don't work Sundays anymore. Usually, the evening skate is from 8-11pm, which would leave everyone PLENTY of CC time.

I'd go, I skate rather well actually

We need to choose a rink that's decent and central for both Eastsiders AND Westsiders. Since I'm originally not from here, where can we go? How about Sunday nights? I just can't do Fridays.

P.S. Does anyone have a helmet and padding I can borrow?

I'd look real hott swinging from the vertical barre in a leg cast!

Is Great Skate a decent place?

I was just looking at the site. Sundays are ADULTS ONLY from 8 to 11pm. Saturday nights are for the teens.

Skate World in Troy has open skating on Saturday nights, and the guys are 1/2 price.

omg that sounds like so much fun. I wish I wasn't so far away :cry

How far from Detroit are you?

I'd lend you a pair but I've never owned any . My family is the type where we didn't get padding, it ensured that we learned how to NOT fall quite quickly.

You all realize, that if we show up in full Goth regalia, we will be talked about by frightened citizens for years to come..

"One time, I was at the skating rink, and all these scary freaks showed up!"

I' pretty sure that we won't be allowed to wear chains, spikes, or anything too revealing.

I'll show up in black sweatpants so I don't stab myself. LOL

There's a rollar rink across the street from my apt. I will check into pricing and open skates.. if you'd like :)

I live in Farmington Hills, that's kinda equidistant for most everyone.

Don't get me wrong-- I'm just as ruff and ready as any! I simply can't afford to maim myself, as my body is my bread and butter, at the moment.

My folks didn't believe in safety devices, either. If they had, I wouldn't have half as many scars! I suspect that many children nowadays are too lacking in common sense to go without padding.
