jynxxxedangel Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 target="_blank Now you do know, TC, that if you are anywhere near as much of a Maiden fan as I am, we could start an entirely new thread devoted to the subject?!?
Simon Bar Sinister Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 I'll see yer Iron Maiden and raise you an American guitar army:
TomCat Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 Now you do know, TC, that if you are anywhere near as much of a Maiden fan as I am, we could start an entirely new thread devoted to the subject?!? target="_blank I am, and we could. I met Bruce and Steve in an elevator, at the Atheneum Hotel in Downtown Detroit. I was on my way to the Wayne county Records dept (tucked away in a different part of the building), dressed in business casual (They're probably thinking, "what a bloody stiff") and I immediately recognized and thanked them for the music I grew up listening too. Bruce looked at Steve, puzzled, and said "Well the Lad can't be all that bad, now can he?" Then I belted out a few bars of the Trooper, and I told Steve that was my favorite metal bassline ever. (Actually, I think I even sang the whole song in about one minute) and when we exited the elevator into the lobby Steve was saying thanks, and Bruce asked if I was going to the show that night at the Joe. I told him I didn't know they were in town and was "bummed" about it. He offered to leave me a pair, I humbly accepted. They were at the will call and when I got them, they were side stage Left, 4th row. We could feel heat from the pyrotechnics, as we were only 15' from the stage. Steve acknowledged me twice duing the show. It was about the coolest thing ever to happen to me at the time (I was 22) So, yeah, I'm a lil' bit of an Iron Maiden fan.
TomCat Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 (edited) The Trooper Yeah, this one is a favorite of mine, and knowing this, Steve Harris pointed at me when the song ended at that concert that they hooked me up with tix for! :jamin :jamin :jamin :jamin Edited December 14, 2008 by TomCat
