Raev Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Disclaimer - this isn't a poem. This isn't song lyrics. It's the result of me venting once long ago. I never revisited it to clean it up, it remains in it's original stream of consciousness form. Took about 90 seconds to write. --warning, I suck at writing-- Sickness is the gift that keeps on giving the one gift that I hold dear the gift you've given me, dear given me so much, let me return the favor ~ That's my blood staining the floor That's my gray on the walls I never forgot what you gave me Now you won't ever forget me ~ Pushed me until I broke, time and again and again and again Shattered into pieces, a jagged soul Time for this, a simple truth for your throat cut it from the inside, like your lies did me ~ That's my hatred running down the wall That's my answer to the questions you've left me ~ So many times you lied Told me your heart and soul were mine if they really are mine... ...then that's my blood staining the floor My gray upon the wall.
Brenda Starrr Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 This is REALLY good...you can FEEL the angst.
aequorea Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 I like it. I like the fact that you do not try to stick to a particular rhyme scheme or anything like that. It comes across as being very genuine and intense. I would be interested to hear what you have in mind for music, if you decide to go that route!
Raev Posted December 17, 2008 Author Posted December 17, 2008 Thanks I rarely share any of the things I write. Everything is rooted in something very personal for me, so the whole rejection thing when someone thumbs their nose at it gets to me more than it should.
