technical DGN assistance please!

Recommended Posts

Posted

I am no longer receiving notification emails from updated threads or even about personal messages. I have tried to fix this myself, but I'm still totally stumped!

I have...

- read the relevant help sections

- checked my settings to make sure that I have the correct options selected

- checked my email address to make sure it's the right one

Is there anything else I could do?

Is there anything that a moderator could do to help? I would really appreciate it!!!

BTW - I wasn't sure where to post this as it is not really a moderator or forum-based issue. For future reference, how should I go about getting tech help?

It's all Brenda's fault!!!!

..I would not know...as I tried to make the E-mail rain STOP...but it seems whenever you tag a thread you are immediately signed up for notes...SO...I just delete ALL the e-mail from DGN...

It's rather silly to get a ton of e-mails from a place I am at more than my e-mails...& as MOST of me peoples are up in here...& the numbers are growing at a really nice rate...& I did not even TELL a bunch of me peoples to come here...& they show up some other ways...YAY!

You can turn off notifications...

...altogether? HOW!?!?

I love you both, but this is totally the opposite of helping!!! LMAO

rev, go to "my controls." from the menu on the lower left, select "email settings." under "board preferences," you can change the email notification settings, and yes even turn them all off!

Only a mod is going to be able to help. We're just adding local color and commentary. :-)

I'll ask a Sr. Mod. Everything you have looks right.. *scratches head*

Maybe you have DGN blocked in your actual emails? Its' going to spam?

You could also PM a mod ;)

As Hunhee mentioned all your notifications could be, being sent to your spam folders.

Have you set your email settings so anything from DGN is not sent to your spam folder?

I will double check my spam folders, but I have never had problems with it before!

For future reference, how can I find out who is a mod and which mod i should PM?

Thanks!

that's true - you may have accidentally clicked "junk" instead of "delete"...

a friend of mine did exactly that a month or two ago, and then proceeded to bitch me out for not writing to her!! :ohmy: (it was all fine once i walked her thru it) =P

anyway, just for fun, check your "banned" or "junk" list. who knows!? :wink

umm... well, I guess that's solved! kinda...

all my dgn mail has been spammed... i guess i will go argue with gmail now...

i found this in the help section...

Legitimate mail is marked as spam

If you find a message wrongly classified as spam, you can unmark the message. Just select the message, and click the Not Spam button that appears at the top and bottom of your current view. Unmarking a message will automatically move it to your inbox.

If you find that some senders' messages are consistently being mislabeled as spam, you can prevent this by:

Adding their email addresses to your Contacts list. Gmail will deliver messages from members of your Contacts list to your inbox, unless they meet these criteria.

Creating a filter so the messages are never sent to Spam.

you should have a folder labeled "spam" on the left, listed under your inbox...

:happy:

Glad to be of service!!

And you call tell who is a moderator by the "Group" label under our avatars.

It states what group you belong under I.E: "Member", "Moderator", "Sr. Moderator" etc etc.

There's also a "Your moderating team" link at the bottom of the forums in the board statistics section, kind of shaded, with links to member post counts and top posters of the day.

Wait now I'm having this problem...and mine's not in my spam folder. Is something still broken from yesterday's down-ness, or is this just my problem?

      About to head up to Roseville to return this rental and pick up my truck from the auto shop.  It is supposedly sporting a newly fabricated frame rail...I don't think they are referred to as "chassis" anymore as I see the confusion in shop owner's eyes when they ask me if I'm looking for "body work?".   But I do find it interesting that I told the owner that I worked direct with OEM parts and yet he still wrote me up an invoice with overpriced OEM parts from companies I used to host at the place I used to work for.  With that said, I'm expecting a stellar job for the amount I paid.   ...else, there will be some talk negotiations.

      ~~~~~ Definitely wishing you luck.  Do enjoy yourselves.   But I have to admit, the first thing that came to mind was does roadside assistance reach the desert? 😬
      ~~~~~ Yeah, it's like something happened to my metabolism this past Winter and when I came out of hibernation, that AARP Join Request started looking like something to check into.

      This 👆 definitely goes with what I said in my other post - getting old sucks. Seems like *everything* takes longer and takes more energy out of me than it used to. Really need to work on my diet and exercise, I've found the older I get, the more important those things have really become...
