Draco1958 Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 I didn't get anything this year. Roommate and I didn't have the money to buy each other a gift and his family is in Ohio and aren't doing well. It was the capper to a bad year and now my B-Day and someone I was hoping to hear from didn't send me B-Day wishes.
StormKnight (1) Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Much of nothing from the family; Christmas combination card. I would rather have a birthday card than a Christmas card any year. Everyone in the family forgets I turn a year older a week prior. Yes, it is a sore point my birthday routinely gets forgotten/glossed over by the family. Most of the good gifts were with friends: A Yule dinner with friends on Christmas Eve was the best gift for the holiday. The best gift of the time was the December Baby Birthday Celebration with as many of us as we could get together.
KimberlyDeLion Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 I am spoiled by my hubby and parents. Got a Wii, played for two days straight and got Wii shoulder. Got hubby a snow blower ...*waits for bj jokes*... and he was supposed to get me a Coach bag but hasn't yet....soooooo, I think I'm going to Noir Leather to get some kick ass black leather thigh high boots instead I love Yule.
Homicidalheathen Posted January 15, 2009 Author Posted January 15, 2009 weee! my step son got a wii from his 'other' grandma I can't wait to go play it... He said you actually get excersize playing games now? Here Draco..your post reminded me of being alone and poor and far from home... (personally don't care for yule much) thought this would cheer ya up (even though its a bit late)
taysteewonderbunny Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 I got to see my second cousin Larry one last time. He died today of lung cancer.
candyman Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 They finally let my cousin out of the mental whatever it was in Florida even after she broke out three times and was found with drugs. Somehow she turned out better than before...it makes me think that I shouldn't be around her as a bad influence. My second favorite present: An entire SS Panzer uniform, Flecktarn of course, complete with personal items that the troops had. No helmet yet because the Germans were the only helmets that were sized and I have a very small head. Still need to buy the correct patches for the Wiking division but I am still happy. The mauser carbine is a little rough as far as the stock is concerned but the metal is still good. Anyone got a good mauser stock?
e-jewell Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 I got part of my car insurance paid for!!! Only for a month.... but still, huzzah!

He may be able to help you find the stuff you need. Just send him an email.
pomba gira Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 For once I actually got stuff I wanted/asked for/needed. Highlight was a leather corset (from Alter Ego Erotics- thanks to all who recommended them!) from Tokagemaru. He also gave me a really cool pendant, a little gold gecko wrapped around a silver chime ball. Surprise gift: Notorious perfume from T's buddy Robert who came to visit from Oakland. Other stuff: Blender, mixer, decent bath stuff, pretty HolyClothing-style skirt & top, wind chimes, and other stuff that I did like but can't remember right now. Getting gifts that actually showed some thought made the holiday season marginally less depressing. It really bothers me when family gives me stuff that makes it seem like they just met me last week. Then I feel like I'm being materialistic & greedy so I get even more depressed. I also got a 20lb turkey from work (gave it to my auntie for the family dinner) and a $100 Macy's gift card from the tech crew who spent the first two months of the school year trashing my room in the process of upgrading our computer system... the server room is what used to be the coatroom for my classroom, so I bore the brunt of the inconvenience and extreme unprofessionalism of these guys (examples: working in the ceilings w/out putting down dropcloths so there was ceiling panel dust EVERYWHERE; leaving fast food wrappers and uneaten food on desks; NEVER putting back any furniture or gear that they moved). However the stockpile of Urban Decay makeup I bought with the gift card went a long way towards placating me! Speaking of which, anyone want to buy a nearly-unused UD lipstick in "Apocalypse"? I tried it once, discovered it's nowhere near as dark as pictured online, and haven't got around to returning it. PM me if interested!
