Emergency Mental Health Care in Macomb County

I knew where to go and who to call when I lived in MD. I need to know what to do HERE. My son isn't okay...

I'll take any advice within reason...

All I could find at the moment:

Edit to add:

Usually the hospital ER can handle the emergency situations as well. That's who we need to go to when my daughter needs it.

I just wish there was an easier way than to spend 8 or 9 hours in the ER.

Even most of the private care facilities here in Michigan are mostly asking you go to ER first and get a referral from them for inpatient admittance if your not paying 100% out of pocket. :(

He seems to be much calmer now, and he has a 4pm appointment tomorrow. But it came and went so fast....

Wish I could Help Bren, but right now I'm not the best person to ask for mental health advice. I can't keep my own issues at bay.

A lot of hospitals have a seperate ER for psych. At least, I know the one in Ann Arbor does. Not positive about Macomb...

I used to work through Macomb County (as a behavior consultant for autistic and Down's syndrome children).

I don't know if you have any supports set up for your son through the county (I don't know if you need them), but you may want to give them a call (if you haven't already, though I don't know if there is much available anymore because of budget cuts, which is why I don't work there anymore).

Anyway, here is the number for the Macomb County CMH Access Center: (586) 948-0222.

Here is the number for the crisis center, which may be helpful, though I think the best they would really be able to do would be to refer you to someone: (586) 307-9100.

These places may be able to get your son in right away if you have a problem again in the future:

Eastwood Community Clinic (Eastpointe) 586-445-2210

Henry Ford Behavioral Health (Clinton Township) - 586-226-7007

Harbor Oaks Hospital (New Baltimore) - 586-725-5777, 24 hour crisis response line at 800-537-7924

I hope these are helpful.

Thanks everyone for the advice, encouragement, and support. Hopefully we'll get somewhere with his psych appt tomorrow.

you might want to avoid st john hospital then. it is the worst for e.r. care of any kind.

when i lived over there for e.r. type visits i went to bon secour. which i guess may be called something else now since i know at some point that hospital and cottage were merging.

It's all, Um. Damn. I'm too drunk to remember. It's all....................................Um. Bought out by........shit. Tomorrow my brain will work and I will finish my effin' sentence. But, yeah, they've been merged into some other hospital entity now. Not Sinai-Grace and not Henry Ford and not St. John, but whatsit. damn gin. interfering with my recall. shit.

Beaumont. Bon Secour is now a Beaumont hospital.
