And why is it your opinion that City sucks on Friday? Cause the only thing that I ever heard was "I don't go on fri cause no one ever goes." Well if all the people that said that went, then it would be just as busy as sat.

I prefer CC on Fridays. There is more room to dance and I really like the music. I do like Saturdays though on occasion, for different music and to mingle with friends. That is my opinion though.

i love CC on fridays its more open less crowded DJ Kitten dose a excellent job not to mention shes pretty hot only thing i really dont like bout fridays is you get the wanna be goth kids that shop at hottpic in there and just pretend to be goth on the weekend

I dunno, it sure sounded like they'd given up in the nye threads. But I hope so! I feel like I missed an era. (Well, I know I missed several eras, but I feel left out and stuff!)

You did miss out on a great era. Back then, Club X was open so all the yuppies stayed there at Club X which meant that all the underground dwellers came up to Ascension UK to converse and be allies. Their backroom was a great peaceful area to talk to friends on the couches and chairs while hearing the music in the main room. At the same time you could enjoy a "bottomless" cup of coffee which was one price for as much coffee as you wanted. Lee back then didn't make a lot of money on the club, but she did well with what she worked with. I even remember back then, one of the members of DeLien (local industrial projekt) who took his gf into the women's restroom and had some fun lol. Man, I went there all the time more than City, but when it closed I ended up at CC. Ah to hear the spins of Igor and see Rogue Angel Seven play live in that hole in the ground. But then, the first few years at any new atmosphere are usually epic, especially if you are totally into it all.

Oh and when the club was about to close at 4:30am, Lee came into the backroom to give this light speech which lead to, "And now, its time for all of us to leave." You didn't get the CC "GET THE FUCK OUT" stuff, which is great in its own way.

im pissed because when i walked in to order my first drink of the evening i was told no because they didnt want to be bothered with it. there was one person at the bar. i sort of assumed thats what they were there for but maybe i was wrong.

went with a friend of mine. He said he also saw you for the Auralgasms night at Proof, and liked the set then....

a DOWNRIVER "CITY CLUB", maybe when FORD goes under we could buy the old WOODHAVEN STAMPING PLANT off of I-75 and turn that into, um, an INDUSTRIAL CLUB ! ! !

Hmmmmmm, gears turn ever so slowly...............

OK, that isn't very likely, especially since the WOODHAVEN popo are right @ the other corner of I-75 & West Rd, and you know they would be right there waiting for your drunk asses to leave "City Club South", LOL.

Especially BAD idea since:

1. CCS would have to CLOSE @ 2, like all the other places.

2. Is WOODHAVEN even giving out liquor liscenses??

3. There would be no good tunes, cause the BEST DJ's on FRIDAY night, DJ's Pleasurekitten & Void 6 spin @ the ONLY CITY CLUB, you know, the one some people love to hate, yup, the one @ 400 Bagley St in DETROIT.

4. The ONLY 1 there would be aponia

So yeah, um, thats not gonna work for the majority of people who actually come out to have a FUN night out with Friends while Drinking/Dancing.

i'd be more worried about brownstown police being over zealous and cruising through woodhaven to catch us. and your not sorry i had an off night. i voiced a very real concer to you and you deleted me from your myspace the next day and wont respond. after 11 years of patronage all i wanted was a "it wont happen again" or dare i say a "im sorry" or even a thank you for voicing your opinion. i'd rather have had a blow off like that than be ignored. this is just one more reason i wont be back. to much straw has broke the camels back

Maybe he just wasn't ready yet, or something...but I've been there around that time before chatting with them and getting service no problem, so I really doubt there's any real reason behind it...maybe you grabbed them at a busy moment or something. I don't think one little thing like that is anything to judge the whole of Friday nights by. After all, the bartenders are mostly the same both nights anyway, so that wouldn't be any reason to judge Friday nights. If you want to hate the bartenders, that's your prerogative (and your loss, because most of them are absolutely great), but it's certainly no reason to dislike Fridays.

You know, are you even sure it was a bartender? Sometimes one of the front girls or other people are back there just for something else or something, and they aren't going to get you a drink...

110% positive that they were a bartender, 1 person at the rail (customer wise), bar properly staffed at the time. either way it's flogging a dead horse. whats done is done.

The only way you'll ever get an apology from City Club is if something happens there that you can sue them over.

There's a really good thread in here about what people want in a bar. Some of it is complete bullshit but there are a lot of good ideas in that thread to follow and if people only would implement some of those (either in an existing or a new bar) it would take off like crazy.

Personally I'd rather stay home, play my own music, and jerk off than go to City Club. I'd get more satisfaction out of the night and less chance of catching something that way.
