man, Dream Theater was never the same after Kevin Moore (who played on their first 3 albums, including the one from which Pull Me Under was taken) left....even though both guys who came after him were technically better players.

For those that have never heard this.

I know people who have had this played at their funeral.

this is a hands-on sequencer; you have to MIDI it up to a synth to make sound. this is mega-cool user interface - you can pretty much improv entire songs! :)

Love the petite electrobaybehs...but now it's time to take it to War of the Gargantuas level!

Yamaha GX-1...and a giant modular Moog watching over the proceedings:

since that link got cut off some time back, here's another GX-1 video. This is the synth that John Paul Jones played on Led Zep's In Through The Out Door.

K plays keys...any kind...anyway...we were in Best Buy and he had gift cards from xmas and his bday totally 200 bucks

we put in 100 from me and got a kick ass casio...

I always thought you could only find good equipment online or in a music store...but even though its not full sized keyboard he is LOVING IT! It has an arpegiator and everything!

Might actually find time to play with it myself soon but I doubt it.

They had some onsale for 200 as well.

I have one of these:

...and you can create some great sounds on it if you take the time to learn how. :)

I also have a Roland S-50 but sadly this disk drive died.

I used to have one of these. very easy to program, and it sounded great. unfortunately, the battery that backed up the memory settings died and, when we tried to replace it, the whole thing fell apart. :(

I did write down the settings for my 3 or 4 fave self-created sounds and, if I ever get another one, they'll be the first things I do with it.

found this clip a couple of days ago; it's a guy demonstrating his Electribe and Aques Tone voice synth program. he took a traditional Japanese folk melody and...well, this is on my faves menu, and I spent about an hour last night listening to it over and over. :D
