TygerLili Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 I don't care how poor I am, there's no way that I could consider hohos and twinkies a meal. I feel bad enough about eating stuff like ramen.
Destroit Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 I view myself as very lucky. Every year we are able to buy a cow and pig to have butcherd and we have meat all year round. In the summer we have fresh veggies from our garden. I wish everyone was able to have this, because no one should have to eat prepackaged crap all the time. Yeap, I have a small ass garden with a corner lot condo, but I still grow veggies and tell my THP cooperative to fuck off. I tell them to fuck off on a near-monthly basis, but they say we can't grow veggies because it attracts "animals". OMFG NOOO! NOT ANIMALS! OUR CHILDREN WILL NOT BE SAAAAAFE! Reminds me how much the Townhouse manager needs a bat to his windshield, or rather his face...yes, a bat to the face would be more justified.

Squirt it into the vents and rubber window guards. They'll NEVER be able to get rid of the stench. Trust me.

I feel bad enough about eating stuff like ramen. Ummm, the fruit & vegi markets like Randazo's, have really cheap things.. Ya know... Healthy shit, like veggies.. You can eat for like two weeks on less than $20.. Then buy a little tuna, rice, & pasta.. Maybe $10.. There ya go lunches & dinners for two weeks for $30.. Spend like $7-$10 on fruit & yogurt or oatmeal & your set for two whole weeks for around $40.. That is a mere $80 a month, kidz This is from personal experience.. Oh, & that leaves out the crappy snacks.. If you need snacks, get a few granola bars or some other healthy crap.
Oh_My_Goth Posted January 24, 2009 Author Posted January 24, 2009 I'm pissed! I get a little, erm how should I say this: buzzed, yet I don't drink, use your imagination, and I start out with a salad. I load it with assloads of croutons (because I will not eat a salad sans-crouton, defeats the purpose of a salad), cheese, turkey, spouts, onion, and ranch dressing because ranch dressing is easily my favorite food group, along with fried chicken. Combine fried chicken with ranch dressing? Yeap, I will jizz in my pants, but in any case, with the munchies I decide it isn't enough and I have ramen noodles, after that Pest informs me that he's making tuna casserole, and makes me eat an assload of it. SO...I decide, all is not lost, nothing that a few hours of cleaning the bathroom and playing DDR can't handle. I start cleaning my room, I move the bed in the middle and make it, and end up laying down to test it out because it looks so sexy, I love clean sheets. Dateline is on, some special about a girl that was a narcotics informant for the cops and went missing due to this, and I keep telling myself that I have to get up or I'll fall asleep and everything I just ate will gain massively on my body... Sure enough the next thing I know Pest is waking me up at about midnight asking me why I went to bed without asking him. I am pissed! I have made it a new rule not to eat past 8pm.. That has helped allot with the binge eating
bean Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 alien poop. I've been eating oatmeal for breakfast, and I've been cutting back on my caffeine intake.

I'm thinking about having one this year. Fresh picked vegetables taste so much better than store bought! I imagine fresh meat probably tastes better too!

GothicRavenGoddess (3) Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 I feel bad enough about eating stuff like ramen. Believe it or not, Raman has a lower GI number than regular pastas (and I mean that its on the list of low GI content). not saying its better for you, but if you are going to eat pasta, Raman is better fto eat, than regular pastas, but I suggest switching to wheat pastas. THAT's better for you lol. For anyone willing to go look, I'll post it again: High, Medium and Low GI Foods Hi GI foods are the ones you want to avoid, or eat very little of. If you have ANY form of PCOS, or insulin resistance, you want to avoid these foods as much as possible. I just have a problem with cutting back on the flavored creamer... You can perfect the art of making your own. Its not as yummy as the store bought stuff, but you control everything that goes into it, so it would be better for you. ~~~~~~~~~~ And I will remind everyone, that if you HAVE to have a little flavor in your water, buy yourself some real lemons and juice them. Lemon juice is a natural diuretic and will help you shed the water that you are holding on. and also, you can lose and gain up to 10 lbs of water weight A DAY! so watch that salt intake. if you eat something particularly salty, drink an extra glass of water. not rules, just a friendly reminder.

Brenda Starrr Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 I lost 5 more pounds. DAMN girl!! I want what you're having!!!
bean Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 DAMN girl!! I want what you're having!!! Oatmeal. That and, I have so much weight to lose, it comes off fairly quickly at first. When I was at the 150 pounds-lost mark, I had a hard time losing any more weight. Then I gained 60 pounds of it back.
GothicRavenGoddess (3) Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 yeah, losing 80 lbs is so much easier than losing 5. trust me, I know exactly what you mean lol
hunhee Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Believe it or not, Raman has a lower GI number than regular pastas (and I mean that its on the list of low GI content). not saying its better for you, but if you are going to eat pasta, Raman is better fto eat, than regular pastas, but I suggest switching to wheat pastas. THAT's better for you lol. The problem is, Raman is way higher in fat, and don't forget PORTION control. 1/2 a package of Raman is a serving, not the WHOLE thing, so when you ingest the whole thing (which I have been known to do in my college days) it's 14 grams fat. The Nutritional for the whole package is.. 380 Calories 14 Grams of Fat 52 Grams of Carbs 2 Grams of Fiber Pasta on the Carb-o-meter and calorie meter isn't that great either, WAY lower in Fat... but it's not as misleading to me as to portion size. I generally just measure it out.. take a cup of pasta, and mix it with my marinara sauce with all the veggies I want, and eat that. If I feel I still want to eat more, I wait 30 minutes. If I STILL want more, then I go back for 1/2 a cup of pasta. I have never gone back. Remember it is VERY IMPORTANT to figure out what a Portion size is... You'd be amazed at how much they're trying to fool us.
hunhee Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Tip I've learned from eating out.. ask for your carryout container BEFORE you start eating, when your food comes, place HALF of the food on the plate into the carryout container, bag it.. Congrats! you are now eating 1/2 the calories..

Keep in mind everyone, a portion is supose to be no bigger than your balled up fist. (like if you make a meal at home, ect.) most portion, now a days, are about half, or 1/4 of what is packaged. lol

TygerLili Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 The three lbs that my scale said I lost in one day are still down today, and I feel smaller today. so I added them to my ticker. Water weight is weird. I was afraid to update the ticker yesterday that it was a fluke and I'd be back to what I was on Friday today.
