Simon Bar Sinister Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 I used to grab a copy every week; haven't picked one up since Halloween. It's not like I've given up on it or anything; I just don't seem to go out of my way to get it anymore...I do miss Savage Love, though. And the personals.
Homicidalheathen Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Love it especially the tale of two kwami's earlier this year
n0Mad Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 I flipped through a couple back in high school and wasn't impressed. Not even worth lining a birdcage imo.
Der Nister Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 I flipped through a couple back in high school and wasn't impressed. Not even worth lining a birdcage imo. It once looked like a dirt rag but now it looks more like a real publication (notice I said 'more').
Ice Queen (1) Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 I flipped through a couple back in high school and wasn't impressed. Not even worth lining a birdcage imo. *clears throat* Except the ones that I appeared in the Noir ads. Those are frame-able
taysteewonderbunny Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 I loved them until they fired me. lol.
Joey Deadcat Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Like Ralphie(Nuke) sang: "Fuck the Metro Times Wining and dining their shitty friends' bands It's all a setup It's a fuckin' rig A fuckin' scam" I miss Fun, Orbit, and Anti-Matter.
TomCat Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 I loved them until they fired me. lol. Those bastards!! I bet they killed Kenny too!
taysteewonderbunny Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Those bastards!! I bet they killed Kenny too! No, I am the world's worst employee. Really. I mean, I try, but I am sooo inept!
LuluVox Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 I am so fascinated with Orbit. It was before my time, but everyone tells me how amazing it was. Anybody got any copies still lying around?
TomCat Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 I am so fascinated with Orbit. It was before my time, but everyone tells me how amazing it was. Anybody got any copies still lying around? I had about two years worth of Orbit when I was married to The Antichrist. However, she tossed 'em during our divorce. Orbit had very edgy writers, on the money musical reviews, and funny takes on the day's highlights. I miss it.
TomCat Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 No, I am the world's worst employee. Really. I mean, I try, but I am sooo inept! Even so, that's no excuse! Look at G. W. Bush!!! Come on he had an "important" job for 8 years...and Kwame for a term and some change too. I don't believe that you could've possibly been that bad!

God it would be awesome if you still had those! Man. Yeah...I wish one of the current alternative rags could be more like Orbit. From what I hear it was just about perfect.

Yeah...I wish one of the current alternative rags could be more like Orbit. From what I hear it was just about perfect. Worse than this...she "stored" 15,000 negatives and slides,(never before printed, 5 years of my traveling, outdoors, wildlife photography, my very best stuff) outside during our separation. In the winter. for 6 months. You do the math...
Reaper Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 I used to always check out the personals but most were older women in there. The alternative dating ads were very amusing to see. Not sure how many other papers do ads like that.

Troy Spiral (13) Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 I used to read MT religiously but haven't bothered in like 2 years.
Joey Deadcat Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Before Orbit Jerry Peterson used to run Fun Magazine(back when he was Jerry Vile). It was a lot more irreverent than Orbit - a lot more! Loved their comic strips and their fucked-up parodies of the newspaper funnies. Can't remember if Chris Gore was involved with Fun back then. I know he was already putting out Film Threat around that time and also had a publication called Fungus Rodeo.
