Who buys vintage coats?

I need to sell 2 vintage, 3/4 sleeve coats. One is a camel shade, wool with satin lining and mink collar. It's just below my knees. The other is a shorter version, same type of cut otherwise, in a green shade. Not originally being from here, I don't know where to take them to sell them.

Any suggestions?

There's a vintage place in Ferndale on 9 mile. I can't remember the name of it, but I used to look around there a lot when I lived out that way. I thought there was one on Washington in Royal Oak, too, but I don't go there much, so I could be mistaken.

The Vintage shop on Washington in Royal Oak is great. Between 3rd and 4th, I believe. Down the block from Lily's Seafood. They have THE best clothes. Of course, in the past couple of years since they've been open, prices keep going up.

There is a new place that opened up in Royal Oak on Rochester....I think the address is 1600, but if you are going north, it is just past the cemetary on the right side. They have a fabulous wool felt sweater from the Navy, but I passed on it.

The shop between Caribou and SA is called Paris. Great store...they just remodeled and I am not sure how much vintage they are doing vs. high end boutique stuff. But if you are looking for rhinestone jewelry, that is the place. The vintage stuff is in the back corner.

Salvation Army won't give you anything for them.

The one in Ferndale is on 9 Mile. Mother Hubbard's, I believe. Cramped and impossible to shop in. There is another one on Woodward....just south of 696 on the east side. I think it is called the Next Generation...not positive though. It is ok...big store, but not a lot of stuff.

In Hamtramck, I think it is called Detroit Vintage or maybe Detroit Threads. Nice guy there...TONS of records (not The Graveyard which is on the other side of the street.) I am horrible with names, but they have an ok selection.

Those are the vintage shops that I think would be willing to purchase coats. I actually collect vintage coats, but I am trying to watch my pennies right now.

There are a couple places in Ann Arbor that I frequent, too...but I don't think you are near A2.

Isn't there a place that takes stuff and sells it on commission on Greater Mack just south of Nine? Next to that custom undergarments shop, I think. Damn. I don't remember the name.

The name of the place in St. Clair Shores is Persnickety's. I looked it up. They buy vintage and designer label clothes or sell them on consignment.
