Der Nister Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 I was chatting with a friend yesterday and she mentioned some movies that she thought if done right, would be great remakes. So I thought why not start a thread? Are there any movies you like/love that if haven't yet been re-done, you think should be? Here's my pick. Logan's Run (Great idea - it just suffers from bad special effects due to lack of technology) Blade Runner (Even though it's great as is maybe they could just re vamp the effects and leave the rest alone) I'll think of more later.
Der Nister Posted February 1, 2009 Author Posted February 1, 2009 I wish they would remake Crossrods - Ralph Macchio is fucking annoying and unconvincing in this one. Now, if only they could get Steve Vai to re-do his role because his performance was brilliant.
DJ Nocker Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 They did remake Logans Run, it was called "The Island" lol. Remakes in general are a terrible idea. The only movie I would like to see remade is "Versus". But in reality I dont want them to remake it becuase they would probably make it worse.
candyman Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 The Guns of Navarone...and any movies dealing with Italian or African battles. Yeah, they were important too and they showed our nation that even minorities could fight and win.
Der Nister Posted February 1, 2009 Author Posted February 1, 2009 Paul McCartney needs to re edit 'Let it Be' (the Beatles movie) badly. I have a copy and after watching it I can only guess that the original editors were stoned. lmao!!!
StormKnight (1) Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Manos the hands of fate. Almost ANYTHING would be an improvement. When the scientists from MST3K apologize for how bad the film is, you just *know* it sucks.
st_masey Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Anyone think that in our lifetime we shall see a remake of the original Star Wars trilogy?
Slept with ghost Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Well they added all that extra cgi crap to them already so thats bad enough.
Simon Bar Sinister Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Ooh! Ooh! pick me! I has ideaz! An evil-alien-robot movie from the '50s called Kronos Reptilicus 5 Million Years to Earth...then again, maybe Ghosts of Mars would count as said remake. The Andromeda Strain Damnation Alley Laserblast...nah, fuck that. No saving that one. ...but most of all, the world desperately needs a remake of... PSYCHOMANIA
DJ Nocker Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Anyone think that in our lifetime we shall see a remake of the original Star Wars trilogy? I think it will happen when Lucas dies. probably some lame "in memory" type of thing,
StormKnight (1) Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Anyone think that in our lifetime we shall see a remake of the original Star Wars trilogy? It already happened...they were called "Special Editions." *misses the ewok "zub zub" song at the party*
DJ Nocker Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 It already happened...they were called "Special Editions." *misses the ewok "zub zub" song at the party* I would not consider them remakes, just added footage. Dont get me wrong, han shot first...but the movies arent much different.
TitsMcGee Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 I kinda wonder what they could do with The Breakfast Club now. But I think it would be a travisty to remake a John Hughes flick.
TheGimp Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 iam kinda on the fence about the new Friday The 13th movie i love me my slasher flicks but i hope they dont screw it up like they did with Jason X and Freddy Vs Jason and try to keep it with the cool old school creepiness
Simon Bar Sinister Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 MTV Films has optioned The Warriors for a possible remake. It's been a couple of years, though, and they're apparently no closer to starting pre-production than they were on Day 1.
phee Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 Do not even think about remaking blade-runner.... the style of that film is too close to perfection to ruin.... besides there have been so many bad imitations of it, what's the point?

Personally, I would be more than honked.

Yeah, the poor man has gone through enough tragedy already having witnessed the death of the Alien franchise.
phee Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 I will personally kill anyone who tries to remake Blade Runner..... let it be said.
Morbid Side Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 iam kinda on the fence about the new Friday The 13th movie i love me my slasher flicks but i hope they dont screw it up like they did with Jason X and Freddy Vs Jason and try to keep it with the cool old school creepiness It's already heading that way. If they wanted to give Jason a small makeover that is fine with me, but why make him out to be track runner. It takes away from the characters originality. However, there is a slight chance that we might end up actually enjoying this new Jason Voorhee's. I just cannot see anyone play him like Kane Hodder did.
