This probably only applies to hardcore fans, but if want to see the band usually credited as the first "industrial" band, here's your chance to see them. Throbbing Gristle is what spawned Pyschic TV [Genesis P-Orridge], Chris & Cosey, and even Coil. Yes, Throbbing Gristle is playing in a church.

TG will play TWO sets,

A new live soundtrack to Derek Jarman’s 60min 1980 alchemical film 'In The Shadow Of The Sun'

PLUS a second set of material from across TG’s history.

LOL, I was excited (not NEARLY as excited as Chernobyl), yet grounded by the fact that there is no way I could ever go because of my work schedule. And it's in Chi-town. Boo! I'd love to see 'em live one of these days!

...truth be told..I learned of Throbbing Gristle because a friend of mine hipped me to Genesis as a writer of Metaphysical literature & such things.....& I was certainly not surprised that they are performing in an old church ;) that's GPO for ya'...

I'm figuring out a way to go...

I have the original soundtrack to "In the Shadow of the Sun." I used to be really into Jarman's films, and the soundtracks are great.

I did get to see Psychic TV and Chris and Cosey play shows at St. Andrew's around 1990. But, seeing TG live would be even better.

for those thinking of going you may want to snag tickets soon. the $50 vip and $30 2 day passes both sold out in a couple days and the nyc show sold out already so chicago may not last long either. i'll be driving from ann arbor. cant wait.

I don't know yet. I don't want to go alone, so I bought two tickets. I'm planning on taking a short vacation and staying in Chicago for a few days around that time.

I'd recommend Neo on north clark street. i've spent a lot of time in chicago and always had a great time there on friday's and saturday's (which are both mostly industrial/synthpop/ebm/etc). had the pleasure of djing there as well which was an experience.

FYI: The tickets for the Chicago shows are SOLD OUT. However, they added two dates to the tour in CA.
