I always felt that "Somebody to Love," and "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane had an incredibly gothic feel to them. The building sense of longing, paranoia, and an altered state of consciousness, coupled with Grace Slick's haunting vocals...they're all elements that later came to be prevalent in the genre of Gothic-Rock.
