Yeah where is this place located? Are the prices similiar to Victoria's Secret? That's where I usually buy mine or Fredrick's.

Thanks!

Is that the only one around?

I live in Flint. =(

Might have to make a trip soon!

That sounds awesome! I'm a hard size to find... I'll have to go check that out!

My mother was just telling me about this place yesterday! Definitely plan to stop by next time I'm in town.

I never wore bras until the past few years when age, gravity, weight gain & style changes made it desirable to do so. I still hate wearing them so a good quality, well-fitting, nice-looking bra is a necessity for it to be at all bearable. My favorite so far is Delta Burke... they are gorgeous, excellent quality, killer fit, and have true plus size details. They're also a bit pricey (around $40 for a bra & panty set) but I get them on eBay for $10- $20 a set.

I utterly detest Victoria's Secret... they are downright insulting to extra-curvy women. Frederick's has some hot gear & a decent size range... but for my everyday bras & panties I'm a Delta grrl for life.

I've heard that 70% of women wear the wrong bra size- I certainly was! About the only use I have for Vickie's is their free bra fittings, which I highly recommend.

K - I know there are TJ Maxx and Big Lots stores in Michigan, not sure about Ross.

But I just picked up about 6 new Delta Burke bras from these 3 stores - and paid from $3.00 to $6.00 each - with original price tags of $28 and up.

Big Lots has these very cool wire-free sport bras by DB I'm crazy about. And I got the prettiest lacy ones, also from Big Lots, and TJ Maxx & Ross carried the same ones and more.

TJ Maxx & Ross also carry DB panties.

Go shopping girlie!!!

Actually I just got home from spending an inordinate amount of loot at Value City! They had some nice Delta and Donna L'Oren sets but none I couldn't do without... I did get a sweet Glamour/Laumiere set tho... black mesh w/lavish white & silver floral embroidery. Actually the last Delta set I got was from Burlington... $12 for a $40 set!

For a while I was buying plus bras & panties at Value City & selling 'em on eBay... quit 'cos there wasn't enough profit margin, it was either sell it first time or lose $$. One ov these days I'm gonna scrape up enough to buy a wholesale lot... do it right this time! Lingerie is a lot less hassle to sell than antiques.

Not just bras & panties - bathing suits, jackets, a full line of clothing.

I have a jean jacket I got from Penney's by her years ago. And my bathing suit - a 2-piece - is also Delta Burke, and came from Penney's. I think they still carry her stuff.

The bathing suit is wonderful in that it's made for a full-figure, and the bra part is cut so that it fits a 38-D PERFECTLY - supports and holds well without looking like a freaking car bra.

it was true for me 'till I moved up here & gained all this weight... I miss not having to wear bras, even tho the no-bra look is very much out of style these days (like I care). I was amazed & appalled the day I discovered I could no longer pass the Ann Landers Pencil Test...

I wear a 36D-DD and I haven't been able to find any cute ones at Vicki's since I moved up in cup size. They only have like 2 styles usually in DD and they aren't cute or I don't like the material.

I did get the extrmee cleavage bra at Fredricks and I like it alot. They have quite a few in DD and the prices are usually cheaper than Vicki's. I usually have a hard time finding what i like and in a 36 but with a DD cup.

I am definitely gonna check this place out! =)

What religion is your bra?

A man walked into the ladies department of a Macy's and shyly walked up

to the woman behind the counter and said, "I'd like to buy a bra for my

wife."

"What type of bra?" asked the clerk.

"Type?" inquires the man, "There's more than one type?"

"Look around," said the saleslady, as she showed sea of bras in every

shape, size, color and material imaginable. Actually, even with all of

this variety, there are really only four types of bras to choose from.

Relieved, the man asked about the types!

The sales lady replied:

There are the Catholic, the Salvation Army, the Presbyterian, and the

Baptist types. Which one would you prefer?

Now totally befuddled, the man asked about the differences between them.

The Saleslady responded, "It is all really quite simple... The Catholic

type supports the masses. The Salvation Army type lifts the fallen. The

Presbyterian type keeps them staunch and upright. The Baptist makes

mountains out of mole hills."

Have you ever wondered why A, B, C, D, DD, E, F, G, and H are the

letters used to define bra cup sizes? If you have wondered why, but

couldn't figure out what the letters stood for? It is about time you

became informed!

(A} Almost Boobs...

{B} Barely there.

C} Can't Complain!

{D} Dang!

(DD} Double dang!

{E} Enormous!

{F} Fake.

(G} Get a Reduction.

{H} Help me, I've fallen and I can't get up.

They forgot the German bras. Stopemfromfloppen & Holtzemfromfloppen!

lol i thought this was funny and kinda fit here, like our bra's kinda fit.... ha ha get it ...... :erm ..... never mind .......... :whistling

I used to go there.

They have weird retro bullet-bras.

Bullet-bras remind me of rockabilly chicks and rockabilly chicks are kind of like the "pretentious Romantigoth" of the Retro scenes.

Think about it:

*Constrictive underwear

*"Vintage lingo" to the point of nauseating everybody around them

*They usually started out as one and then morphed into the other

*They talk the talk of "testing gender norms", but be damed if they'll dress or act like it!

Thank you!

A few years ago, I noticed a sign at the VS in Great Lakes Crossing -- "Now in sizes up to 40DD!"

Woah! Way to go, Vicky!

Frederick's is awesome. One of their first celebrity spokesmodels was Mae West.

I went on a serious eBay bullet bra hunt a while back, ended up w/two... a strapless with serious torture boning on the cups, & a marginally more wearable longline. They're amazingly uncomfortable- I can't imagine walking around all day every day in one. Ov course the strapless one is intended for evening wear, but still... probably gonna put both back on eBay this summer.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Vickie's "bigger" size bras don't have full figure details, like wider wings, triple hooks, side boning, wider straps, etc.. so they'll never give a comfortable & flattering fit on a voluptuous figure. I bought a 38D T-shirt bra there when I went to get fitted... the few times I've worn it, I felt like a Valkyrie... like I should spray paint it silver & put on a horned helmet. & it was the best-fitting out ov 4 or 5 I tried. They talked me into getting a credit card that day... it's never been used except for that one bra, and some lotion & bath stuff bought for a last-minute gift.

Great book, kind ov on topic: History of the Breast by Marilyn Yalom. There's another one, a mini-coffee table book called The Breast Book ...entertaining but a much lighter read, with a lot of material directly lifted from Yalom's book.
