Black Sunday9 Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 So there you have it. I hate books. what a waste of time. in 2005 I see no need for books. I didn't like being forced to read them in college so why would I like them now? Yes some books are entertaining but I can get that same entertainment watching Nick at Nite or TV Land, they have family ties with Michael j Fox. One episode was Skippy handleman and mallory (justine bateman) were locked in the basement and they told eachother their deep feelings. Comic books RULE! Especially DC. Comic books are so much more worthwhile than regular books. It would be awesome if one day all the books of the world got burned. anyway I especially hate philosophy books. So yeah, not all books are the same level of suck. here is my list of approved authors. I wouldn't choose to read them but if you have to, you might as well. John Mcwhorter, Thomas Sowell, Milton Friedman, Alfred Marshal, phillip k dick, william gibson remember, philosophy books suck the most. Why would I pay money to read about some idiot reach a conclusion I could have on my own? these people suck: Noam Chomsky Nietzsche Ayn Rand jack kerouc the guy who wrote fear and loathing in las vegas sucks too, I forget his name. So in conclusion.....books suck. videogames and comic books rule.
phee Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 You are like me to a degree... I LOVE BOOKS, But I have big problems reading non-fiction, unless it is really interesting.
Fierce Critter Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 Can I add Camus to the list? I mean, I read "The Stranger" during a particularly deep Cure-fanatic phase, and the lyrics to my DGN CD song "Ever, Mary" are actually MY "Killing an Arab" through the character Marie's eyes (a whole verse was left out for length adaptation). But overall, Camus (and other existentialists) = life sucks, I'm miserable, we're all gonna die anyway so what's the point. Yadda yadda yadda, boring.
Black Sunday9 Posted May 23, 2005 Author Posted May 23, 2005 I was with you until you said this: I LOVE BOOKS so pretty much you lost me right at the start of your post. here's a great barbeque/book burning I went to last night.

I am not familiar with Camus but why do existentialist (what a stupid word) feel the need to read these big long boring books to justifuy their beliefs? utter crap. I'm gonna burn some Camus next week. It will be awesome.
Guest MsMaldoror Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 Um, I like Camus, Nietzsche, Chomsky, existentialist philosophies, and BOOKS. :fear I guess I'm just a loser and my opinion doesn't count though. :tear I want to start posing scantily clad on READ posters for the American Library Association. Black Sunday9 Posted May 23, 2005 Author Posted May 23, 2005 Did you take your medication BS? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just to let you know I printed out this post. Then I used it to wipe my ass. :cheerful

Guest MsMaldoror Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 It's funny how so many of you will spend countless hours reading silly threads on DGN, but you won't pick up a decent book? For shame... =(
Guest MsMaldoror Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 Hey, you said you were a Nick Drake fan, and he liked Camus... How can goths not like "A Happy Death" by Camus? Can I add Camus to the list? Guest MsMaldoror Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 I've known about your evil plot all along. The real reason you didn't take the job in FL is because you want to brainwash all of the bookworms in MI. People in FL are illiterate, so you wouldn't have much luck there. yes. but my cowardice is for a good cause. I would love to get together and read with you. Please do not read the next paragraph though. Hey Fierce Critter, I think my plan is working! I think she's falling for it.
