I was talking to my friend Trish about this, owner of a Roseville coffeeshop, to see if it would be feasible. She said that she would consider it. And it looks doable with her new expanded hours. Because it is a coffeeshop, attendees would be expected to purchase a beverage and it would not be restricted exclusively to DGN, but is anyone interested in a regular Saturday morning sewing/knitting/crafting and clothing exchange? Please let me know. I have to have confirmed interest before she would let me advertise this as a regular gig.

Trixie's, btw, for all of those who have yet to drag their asses to the fantastic Sunday Poetry Open Mic nights, is on Gratiot just south of Frazho in Roseville--just a hop/skip/jump from 696.

back in high school i used to spend at LEAST every tuesday at trixies

i'm not entirely sure how feasible it would be to have a couple dozen sewing machines there? i remember it as being endearingly crowded with little tables... knitting/crocheting would work better maybe?

haven't been back there in years tho, and i'm all about supporting the place (not that big of a hypocrite i promise, i just live an hour away now)

Confirmed with Trisha, the owner of Trixie's, that the event is approved. Anyone who wants to come and exchange clothing or work on a project may do so...no particular group project in mind. This is just the beta version. We'll have the couches and three tables at the back. 11 am, Saturday, March 21 at Trixie's Coffeehouse 25925 Gratiot Avenue, Roseville, MI, just south of Frazho (10.5 mile--about a mile south of 696). Remember if you are coming from parts central and north that 696 is closed at Dequindre for construction.

so i just realized that this is scheduled for saturdays and there is no feasible saturday at any time in the forseeable or unforseeable future that i will ever be able to do anything between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm on any saturday.

i work every saturday.

the whole damn thing.

only time i can get out of it is to take one saturday a year pretty much for much needed vacation time.

sorry...

sundays were pretty much my only option

Hmmm. So sorry you won't be able to make it. I'd say Sunday except that Trixie's isn't open until 6 pm on that day. Maybe, if the interest is there, we can work out some alternate dates and times wherein you maybe included. *hope*

Now...we aren't goin' up there at some 11:00 am...cartoons aren't done till noon...we have VERY STRICT rules governing cartoon time on Saturday morning...like they can only be trumped by SyFy (rare as it is) & Church duties (as rare)...
