Homicidalheathen Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 ...anymore. Slurring your words and spitting or drooling when you talk is not sexy. The after effects, headaches...icky sickies... Its soo much easier to get drugged. There is no such thing as a 'happy drunk' in my opinion. If your an alcoholic, its NOT nice being around you. You may think your cool...when in fact, your just an obnoxious asshole who has to be in a bar to be liked because only other drunks can love you. Its expensive. Not just the booze, cover charges, but losing your lisence possibly? Lets see, falling flat on your face...running into trees...ect...ect...all the alcohol related accidents... calories.

But I drool when I talk anyway. No, I agree with you that it is very unpleasant to see somebody you care about ruin their lives, or in the case of intoxicated driving, potentially ruin the lives of others. And I've never understood the concept of drinking until one pukes or even intentionally building up a tolerance. At the same time, I do not believe our options are teetotalling or alcoholism (in the exclusive sense of 'or').
Homicidalheathen Posted March 27, 2009 Author Posted March 27, 2009 I know 3 people who lost their lisence in the past few years one is paying 850 in fines this week and he got a break I told my kid, if you drink...eventually you will drink and drive. You get in situations...it just happens. Well even not just drinking and driving, drinking and walking. As in public intoxication...know 2 people doing the right thing by not driving got that one.
Onyx Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Heavy drinkers get pretty ugly and sloppy definitely. It is very possible to go out and have fun without alcohol and/or getting high. Cheaper too!
Slogo Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 The problem is we see drinking as a driving problem instead of a drug problem.
candyman Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Yeah, it is a drug and if they want to do "sin" taxes...they should include all the "sins" or none of them...unless there is a different idea behind all of this crap...
Rev.Reverence Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 ..drunk (really drunk) peoples make me want to drink..to block them out...

I know a way they'd be able to tax ALL of the sins. It involves ending a certain bullshit war. Hmmm I wonder what that would be.

I don't really see how fairly taxing something that hasn't been touched, or even regulated, since the 60's has anything to do with the war...unless they will pass some law like they have in the Middle East to keep people "in the faith"...but they seen to be able to kill their own and others while doing that at the same time. All they have to do is stop talking about Cuba, stop harping about cigarettes already, and quit with the damn handouts. They have plenty of time to decide something between their votes for raises and such. Or the government could stop funding their anti-cigarette groups that have the lastest information...and by latest information I mean 1996. The states could also stop taxing cigarettes, a now seldom used product compared to years ago, and could pass something...ANYTHING in favor of actually regulating alcohol...hell, raising the tax on alcohol by $0.02 and you would make a shit ton of money...it would probably bring in more per month than cigarettes would in a year. I am seriously going to beat the living shit out of the next drunk person that bothers me. There is really no brain to kill at all if they average two beers per day and the stench of the rotting corpse would be covered by the smells of piss, vomit, and raunchy alcohol...like hell my cigarettes are costing me more than people that booze up!

I'm talking about the biggest waste of money this country has evr been guilty of...THE DRUG WAR!

Ah, you know I thought that was the war you were talking about but recently I have hear tons of people blaming what seems like everything on the war in Iraq so...I guess I am a bit on the edge right now with all the blame game shit...sorry
Homicidalheathen Posted April 3, 2009 Author Posted April 3, 2009 giving up drinking has really shun a light on who my true friends are. Most don't REMEMBER after I have told the 3x.... Then if they DO even remember, they forget how important it is for me as I come from a family of alcoholics... Or they just DON'T CARE and only want to hang out with me IN BARS or parties...where there is lots of booze... Occasionally I will have a beer or two...thats not enough...some want me to get PLASTERED with them...rude, rude...beyond rude...mean even... It is hard to hang out with people like that without being drunk yourself as most people are annoying when drinking... I can honestly OMG is a true friend as she is not like this....she is doing so well with it too its an inspiration.
