MyViolentMachine Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 I want to get into weight lifting again. @ things are stopping me, 1 need to get my shoulder checked, did something to it back in Dec and it's still not right and clear out the garage enough to set up my weight bench. Once that is done, I'll set up an open invitation for people interested to come by and work out with me, I need the motivation. Just be sure not to give yourself too many excuses NOT to do it. It's far to easy to be lazy about it. Trust me i know and you suffer all the more afterwards.
Enishi Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 I find that the hardest thing about staying on a work out schedule (or any kind of active schedule which doesn't involve stuff like internet surfing or video games) is just getting over the initial emotional resistance. I just did five minutes of Zhang Zhaung (standing meditation) outside and although the initial minute of laziness sucked, I got more and more into it as the seconds ticked by and was sad when I had to stop.
Invictus Posted July 21, 2009 Author Posted July 21, 2009 I'm currently hurtling toward a 300# 5 rep for my Zercher squat. Seems like the Z-Squat just keeps getting easier and easier.
taysteewonderbunny Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Does carrying eight-year olds count as weight lifting?
Raev Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 I used to religiously, three times a week. I don't have any workout partners anymore, so I kinda stopped a long time ago.
Invictus Posted September 2, 2009 Author Posted September 2, 2009 Started grip training again today with my favorite grip and GPP tool, the sledgehammer. Sledgehammers rock, now I just need a tire to hit, I broke the treestumps I was using.
