I'm realizing just how much I miss having a Japanese conversation partner.

If you're interested, I've been in need of a japanese conversation partner for a long time now, but have been unable to find anyone. feel free to email me if you'd like to discuss the possibility?

I know a Japanese-American girl.  I do not know if she actually speaks it or not though.  She's dating my friend Kurtis.

Though I imagine you could go out to eat at a Japanese place and just strike up a conversation with people and see if anything sticks.

Thank you for the thoughts and suggestions.  I'll see what happens when I get my confidence back.

😅

When I was still studying Japanese at WSU, our instructor took us to a Japanese restaurant where the staff were actually Japanese.  I mistakenly thought that was true for all "Japanese" restaurants.  I found out quick that generally, the front of house is Korean and the cooking staff is usually a blend of American, Korean, Japanese and anyone else who knows the basics of Asian cuisine.  But at least I did make friends with the proprietor's wife at one Japanese restaurant while they were still there.  However, she is Korean and was front of the house and he is Japanese and never left the kitchen as he was head chef.

if it makes any difference, i've actually completed the full free duolingo course, but have yet to speak it out loud with anyone, so you might not need full confidence for it! ;)

Common sense.

Unfortunately common sense was never all too common anyway.

What I really miss are educated people.  We have the internet at our fingertips which can teach us everything, allows us to research anything, and gives us the ability to be worldly without even having to go anywhere.  The only reason for anyone to be ignorant about anything in the modern era is because they willfully choose to be and that's really sad.

I don't even think I'm all that intelligent and I still make most people look like morons.

I miss the lack of need for subscriptions and the art curriculum in schools. No real emotional outlets growing up, and now you have to pay for everything. Let me watch my favorite shows in peace Disney!😭😭and why are all the cool art theme classes out of the city and so much money🥲 and why does no one wave anymore to simply say hi, and what is up with the lack of good workers in the hospitality field, I'm doing everyone's shift😭with little pay that goes towards Netflix, and Netflix can't even keep the good shows (some of the movies are good though) and ahhhhh....

Anyway, that's my vent coming back to the board.
