pleasurekatzen Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 how 'bout it? just realized I can go to this, and I'd like to avoid TicketBastard pulling $$$ out my ass. Tickets can be purchased at Showtime Clothing Showtime is located on the corner of Woodward and Palmer, 2 blocks North of the DIA at 5708 Woodward. While you're there, you can register to win an exclusive Meet And Greet with Mr. Murphy himself
fish Posted July 14, 2009 Author Posted July 14, 2009 i may have an extra ticket to this. i won a pair off of 89x this past weekend and my girlfriend hates him and i don't think she'll go. but no guarantees yet. i'll know thursday if it's 100% or not and if she isn't going i'll be glad to just give it to someone. you'd just have to meet me at will call as that is where my tickets will be. also does anyone know cc's typical show times? their website says 8 so i'm guessing that is the doors?

SO FREAKING JEALOUS. Nice win! I still have to buy my tickets but I was thinking I'd still find time to head down to Showtime (assuming it's not too late to enter that raffle/contest thing???) but I don't know how much more they are at the door..I don't think I'll be going to Detroit before Friday so it's kinda a pain to go down there just for the tickets. Anyone know how much they are now / at showtime vs at the door?
Simon Bar Sinister Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 fish: doors at 8, opening band goes on at 9 TOK: tix will be $25 at the door, if I remember right.
fish Posted July 17, 2009 Author Posted July 17, 2009 (edited) so if anyone wants a free ticket to this show let me know. as i'm going by myself i plan on trying to pretty much just be there for peter's set so i will get there around 9:45-10. but if you want to meet me at the door then my extra ticket is yours. ***this is now spoken for. TheOsakaKoneko Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 Due to a certain someone being AWESOME... I will be in attendance tonight. Peter? He's pretty awesome. YAY!! Now my only question is...do I be "that guy", wearing the performer's tshirt to the show? hahaha
DJ Nocker Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 Peter? He's pretty awesome. YAY!! Now my only question is...do I be "that guy", wearing the performer's tshirt to the show? hahaha I will make fun of you if you do Although im sure that there will be more than 1 person with a Bauhaus shirt on. -.- Im still debating on if I want to stick out like a soar thumb on purpose or not. lol

Whee tonight!!
Simon Bar Sinister Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 (edited) intense performance, fun crowd. some radically rearranged Bauhaus songs in the encore, which was surprising - I didn't expect any bauhaus at all. Then again, the last time I saw him, he was touring behind the Wild Birds compilation, and that album was virtually the entire setlist on that evening. Edited July 18, 2009 by SpammerOvTheGods
pleasurekatzen Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 Was glad to see so many people out and having a good time last night! Thanks for coming everyone!
DJ Saint Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Murphy's best moment of the night came in doing a spectacular cover version of Joy Divisions "Transmission". Stood there with my jaw on the floor!
TheOsakaKoneko Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Murphy's best moment of the night came in doing a spectacular cover version of Joy Divisions "Transmission". Stood there with my jaw on the floor! Agreed!! That and Space Oddity! SO MUCH FUN! I loved his crazy posing all around the stage. It was a great show.
Simon Bar Sinister Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Perhaps Murphy's best moment of the night came in doing a spectacular cover version of Roxy Music's "In Every Dream Home A Heartache". Stood there with my jaw on the floor! fixd!
DJ Saint Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 fixd! LOL -don't go changing my words. While the Roxy cover was appreciated, it was not even close to the power/awesomeness of the Joy Division cover. Just my thoughts. Had he not played "Transmission" I'd be posting a much harsher review of the show.
TheOsakaKoneko Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 fixd! Roxy <3<3<3 Probably the only band my father and I both love...not just tolerate. But I liked the Joy Division cover more I have to admit..
