The finding out I am working with a god-squad (cardiothoracic,) surgeon starting next week. (they are nick-named the god-squad because they are the only ones that will stop a heart for hours, and have the patient live again...and not part of the zombiepocalypse.)

Having a nice conversation with my dear brother (Nightgaunt); seeing how O-L-D most of my high school classmates look (in comparison to myself ); some lovely, supportive FaceBook comments from my friends; the affirmation that my dear husband still loves me (even after having gone through all of this bullshit); and BEEEEEEEEEEEEEER.

The amazing tenacity of the last surviving pinkie of the batch I bought Sunday. Three days with no food or maternal care (except for maybe a few drops of kefir milk yesterday morning), and it was still alive & kicking when it became snakelet food last night. I almost wished there was some way to keep it alive long term. Actually felt called on to carry it around in my hand for a while... maybe I was hoping to absorb some of its little rodent toughness.
