is everyone's post count going back to zero? =P

I should think not.

Troy actually can add them if they do...he added some of the Ainchient member's post count from the last board as I understand it...they don't call him "Lord-Troy, God-Of-DGN" for nothin' ;)

Its just a lot of changes to the board and a lot of updates. The core account info, like your post count and your posts / gallery and such will remain the same.

One of the beauties of the new board software as opposed to the P.O.S garbage we used to run DGN on.

As with any big release (this will be the biggest update DGN has ever been through.) i'm expecting some minor bugs, and probably also some complaints about things changing slightly (most people don't like change, even if the change is an improvement, but eventually warm up to it)

There are a lot of custom things I want to add to DGN that would be pointless to do now (put the old picture gallery display system back in, a built-in "automatic" donations meter with a visible bar-graph of the donations, DGN "arcade games" that keep scores, a lot more "Facebook" style features for user profiles, tons of "behind the scenes" addons) Because if we set that stuff up now it will get squashed when the new version comes out.

But, none of the basic user info will get squashed. I'm kind of excited about the new update. But in general, DGN will be pretty much the same, just with a more streamlined interface and such.

Comprensive White Paper Covering New Features of IPB 3.0 (IP. Gallery will also get an update)

Will the skins change? It will be odd getting used to anything other than the DGN Oldschool skin, for me! :hrhr:

They will likely change. But, if there isn't something close to the default DGN skin that we have now, I'll lock myself in a cave and spend the 30 hours it'll take to get something similar to this back in action.

      About to head up to Roseville to return this rental and pick up my truck from the auto shop.  It is supposedly sporting a newly fabricated frame rail...I don't think they are referred to as "chassis" anymore as I see the confusion in shop owner's eyes when they ask me if I'm looking for "body work?".   But I do find it interesting that I told the owner that I worked direct with OEM parts and yet he still wrote me up an invoice with overpriced OEM parts from companies I used to host at the place I used to work for.  With that said, I'm expecting a stellar job for the amount I paid.   ...else, there will be some talk negotiations.

      ~~~~~ Definitely wishing you luck.  Do enjoy yourselves.   But I have to admit, the first thing that came to mind was does roadside assistance reach the desert? 😬
      ~~~~~ Yeah, it's like something happened to my metabolism this past Winter and when I came out of hibernation, that AARP Join Request started looking like something to check into.

      This 👆 definitely goes with what I said in my other post - getting old sucks. Seems like *everything* takes longer and takes more energy out of me than it used to. Really need to work on my diet and exercise, I've found the older I get, the more important those things have really become...
