I have a sick, strange love affair with that club. Sometimes we fight and I go on vacation, but I always end up missing it and coming back. I've almost always had a good time there. I'm a pretty shy person when it come to talking to "strangers", so I find that now that I know so many more people through friends or through DGN, I have more fun. It's more like a social outing and less like I'm hanging out with my specific group that I came with at a different venue. Maybe I've gotten more social too.. who knows!

It seems that it should be more fun, but it really isn't. Maybe it's just the mounting disappointments that are more apparent lately. I'll still go, but I wonder why sometimes.

IT is so awsome that someone actually is stating this opinion I have read hundreds of post s about how much CityClub sux, and how it is no good any more etc... I personally think it is about the same as it always has been and that is pretty cool, the only change has been myself, and that I am no longer the big eyed 17 year old who first started there.

And yes.

Not really, just a day of clarity. Seems to be to me, that as much as I used to live for nights at CC, that "My old crowd" was a reason for that. The new crowd just doesn't compare...the comraderie, knowledge of the "scene," sense of history, and atmosphere are seriously diluted. Granted, not many of you were around from '87-'93 when I was most active there, but it was a completely different feel.

Are you saying we suck man??? *L* I was to oyoung then! :nut

I used to go from like 93-96. I only go a couple times a year now but I have to say I like it much better now....the music is better (more synthpop - less industrial) and I know more people there.

I vote for better now.

Of course not Nienna, but all of my close friends aren't around anymore. It's hard to explain

See, I grew up on Industrial music. I don't dislike synthpop, but some of the crowd that it brings with it leave something to be desired. And even though I know more people overall now, I don't have the close relationships today that i had back in the early 90s.

I'm just ribbing you. I know what you mean.. I have the same problem actually, but I like my new club aquaintences too.

I figured as much Nienna. I just wanted to be clear. I don't have the "connection" to the people that i hang out with as much as I used to.

CC always was the oldster hang out now we are the oldsters.

I love it, but I have only been going for a few years. My boyfriend has gone for a long time and he says it used to be more fun. I like it lots, that's all I know.

you are more social now that is for sure. i think that is probably a good part of it.

i liked it more when i used to go all the time but that was when it was "my thing" to do. i don't do it anymore so i am not sure how i would really like it now if it became my thing again??

I'm 32 being going since I was 18 and its better now than it was back then. Me and my friends had mohawks and shit. I took acid for 2 years straight every weekend so that part I can't really judge was a blur.

I like it better now. But, I like dancing more now too.

I used to go all the time '92-96. Seems like it used to be a bit more of a rough-and-tumble crowd. I liked it then and I like it now for different reasons - though I now only attend a few times a year. I do get the "expiration date passed" feeling ever so often...but perhaps that is from not being able to tolerate late nights, smoke and the possiblity of bad music as well as I used to.
