Looking for ideas for incidental color, and authenticity in the book.

Granted, its a far future Detroit, but I want to include little locations and tidbits with some real basis to them. I knew a few, of course, but I want to hear yours too.

I'd also like to hear your anecdotes, your experiences. What are your Detroit experiences? Tell me your odd, quirky bits and who knows, it might give me an idea for added color in the book.

why is it that the first thing that came to mind was a bunch of hotties in Greektown all walking around in Detroit Tigers jerseys with Verlander on the back?

fishing on Belle Isle

long-distance takeout runs to Steve's Soul Food

packs of crotch rocket riders roaring up the Lodge

being squished in a crowd for a concert at hart plaza

being squished getting out of the fireworks one year

climbing up Ford Auditorium's front face to get a spot above the crowd to watch the fireworks

parties in old warehouses

people squating in same

loft apts cheap that are huge and you can hold parties in them

did I mention parties

russel industrial center lofts for rent to artists, they have makeshift huge thick wood doors and huge padlocks on them it was kinda surreal

oh I had to pee in a bad area once and someone was being shot at and running. I just kept going then took off
