put a new battery in my car today so i could start driving it instead of the truck, but i still can't get it started. the power just dies completely when i turn the key over! like, no clicking, no engine turning over, just *turn key* = all dash lights/radio/dome/everything dies.

looks like i'm gonna have to take it to a mechanic...

Check and clean all of your connections really well. Particularly grounds. Something similar happened on my van. A little corrosion on the battery cables was the culprit. And a dying starter.

It sounds like you might have a bad alternator. Usually they're not hard to replace of you know a thing or two about what's under the hood.

I've gotta replace a waterpump and my shock absorbers. But i couldn't do that today because hell, my day was ruined again, by not being able to get off work on time, actually, the assholes on the next shift showed up 3 hours late. And i'm on Salary pay so no overtime for this crap.

But everytime i call my sweetheart, she makes my day better... but i gotta wait another 2 hours to do even that :(

...finding out that the appraiser that the real estate company sent out fudged the value of the house we're buying. Now, due to incompetence involving the financing end of things, the new appraiser has determined a much lower value for the house, apparently negating our loan approval. Today was the day we were originally supposed to have closed on the house. This is all after a couple of grand spent on our part on earnest money, inspection, appraisal, and repairs to the house. Everything is totally up in the air at this point, but we still have to be out of our rental house by the end of the month.

What made my day: My lovely wife returned home from work with a great big hug for me.
