Watching the 10 o'clock news, I learned that Walter Cronkite has died. In my honest opinion, he was the one newscaster that Americans trusted. I remember when in junior high, my history class teacher had us watch the show You Were There and fill out a report form for class credit. I also remember him for all the Apollo moon reports as well as many other stories. He will be missed.

At least he lead a long, full life.

This is a link to Fox 2's page on Walter Cronkite. There are a few Youtube videos of some of his more famous broadcasts, the JFK assasination, King's assisination and the lunar landing.

"And that's the way it was ..." :crybaby:

They just don't make newscasters like this anymore. He was also the narrator for the "Spaceship Earth" ride at Epcot.

Now that was a real old-school journalist if there was one.

Spook beat me to the punch with the send off.

I still remember him on the Iran hostage situation when I was 10, "We believe that this bus has the hostages, and not a visiting basketball team."

At least I remember him saying that quote.
