Simon Bar Sinister Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 It's definitely a go. There's going to be a RevCo show here in October as well, but I don't know the date or venue.
Guest greyhalo Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 Hopefully I can catch them on the West Coast!
DJ Saint Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 It's definitely a go. There's going to be a RevCo show here in October as well, but I don't know the date or venue. Here's an interesting note about that revco tour. Jourgenson will only be on about 4 dates of the whole tour. WTF!!!??? The promoter contacted me to see if Darque Productions would be interested (um, not unless it was for a lot less money, get better tour suppoirt and for christ sakes AL J should be there) from his email... Long known as the eclectic and tongue-in-cheek side project of Ministry'sAl Jourgensen, the seven-week tour kicks off in Jourgensen's hometown of El Paso, TX with a Sept. 10 performance at Club 101. RevCo's touring line-up for this trek includes: Josh Bradford (Stayte, Simple Shelter), Sin Quirin (Ministry), Clayton Worbeck (Stayte, Simple Shelter), AAron Rossi (Ministry, Prong, John5) and Stevie Banch (Spyderbaby). Jourgensen is set to appear at a handful of outings as noted below. September 10 - El Paso - TX - Club 101 (With AL JOURGENSEN) September 12 - Albuquerque - NM - Sunshine Theater September 13 - Denver - CO - Gothic Theater September 14 - Ft Collins - CO - Aggie Theater September 15 - Salt Lake - UT - Club Vegas September 17 - Coeur d'Alene - ID - The Grail September 18 - Seattle - WA - Studio Seven September 19 - Vancouver - BC - Rickshaw Theatre September 20 - Portland - OR - Dante's September 23 - San Francisco - CA - The Fillmore September 25 - San Diego - CA - Brick By Brick September 26 - Tempe - AZ - The Clubhouse September 27 - Los Angeles - CA - House of Blues (With AL JOURGENSEN) October 1 - San Antonio - TX - White Rabbit October 2 - Okalahoma City - OK - Diamond Ballroom October 3 - Kansas City - MO - The Beaumont October 4 - St. Louis - MO - The Firebird October 6 - Chicago - IL - House of Blues (With AL JOURGENSEN) October 7 - Detroit - MI - Blondie's October 8 - Cleveland - OH - Peabody's October 9 - St. Thomas - ON - Brunswick Tavern (TBC) October 10 - Ottawa - ON - Babylon October 11 - Montreal - QC - Foufounes Electriques (TBC) October 12 - Toronto - ON - Reverb (TBC) October 14 - Pittsburgh - PA - Rex Theater October 16 - Worcester - MA - The Palladium October 17 - New York - NY - Irving Plaza (With AL JOURGENSEN) October 18 - Baltimore - MD - Ram's Head Live October 20 - Jacksonville - FL - Jackrabbits October 21 - Orlando - FL - Firestone October 22 - Fort Lauderdale - FL - Revolution October 23 - St. Petersburg - FL - The State Theatre October 24 - Charlotte - NC - Tremont Music Hall October 25 - New Orleans - LA - House of Blues October 30 - Austin - TX - Emo's I'd say take a road trip and see Al and the gang in Chicago... Revco aint Revco without Al (and if you want to get technical Revco was best when they were Al, Richard 23 (Front 242) and Luc Van Acker)
Simon Bar Sinister Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 ^ hahahahahahaha, that's retarded! 4 shows w/Al? gotta be fuckin' kidding me. Chicago definitely sounds like the way to go.
Joey Deadcat Posted July 21, 2009 Author Posted July 21, 2009 Caught RevCo last time when they toured with Ministry. No way Al could bail outta the RevCo performances then!
Ice Queen (1) Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 The first time I saw The Damned live was exactly 20 years ago today. It was my firs pit, heehee. I've seen them a few more times over the years, always a good show. Unfortunately, I think I am booked to perform that evening, and will have to miss it.
TheOsakaKoneko Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 Anyone know the cost yet? Nice timing, right by Halloween! I think this could be gooood. XD
Joey Deadcat Posted July 30, 2009 Author Posted July 30, 2009 Still no updates on ticket $$ - shouldn't be too much. Don't remember paying a lot when they played at The Magic Stick.
TheOsakaKoneko Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 I've had Eloise in my head freakin ALL DAY. This should be awesome.
the eternal Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 That's awesome. It's great to see a band like that still doing it 30+ years later.
DJDeadbeat Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 It actually might be a good bit since its at the fucking Live Nation capital of ST ANDREWS HALL. But i'm not going to hang myself up about that, but rather that I can finally see one of my all time favourite bands!! SOME GIRLS ARE UGLY TOO!
Joey Deadcat Posted August 27, 2009 Author Posted August 27, 2009 Creeping closer. Danko Jones will be the opening act during this tour. Seems when they head back to the UK they will be gigging with Motorhead and Girlschool during the remainder of 2009. Nice. Way back during the 70s Lemmy did a very, very short stint in The Damned for some shows.
TheOsakaKoneko Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Bump! Anyone got their tickets yet? I need to get mine. Looks like it's $23 in advance, $25 at the door (so paying ticketbastard fees or whathaveyou seems exceedingly silly...I can't imagine St Andrews selling out for them, as awesome as they are).
Guest greyhalo Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 They'll be here in Portland on Nov. 1. Yay!
pleasurekatzen Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Just got word via livenation that this show has been cancelled :(
TheOsakaKoneko Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Just got word via livenation that this show has been cancelled :( NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NOT COOL. I was SO looking forward to this. Had my outfit half planned. This was going to make my Halloween 2009. SO FREAKING NOT COOL.
Joey Deadcat Posted October 20, 2009 Author Posted October 20, 2009 Very bad news; on the other hand, it's kind of a relief as I wasn't sure if I was going to make it out after all.
TheOsakaKoneko Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 US Govt and Immigration sucks. Not LiveNation's fault. They couldn't get Visas. D:D:D:
phluteloop Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 *sigh* Heard about this yesterday. So very disappointed, I've been looking forward to this since mention of the show this summer.
DJ Saint Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 some more news here... http://www.slicingupeyeballs.com/2009/10/20/damned-tour-canceled-immigration-visas-concerts/ Hey, it's another visa issue, which seems to be the cause of many tour cancellations these days...
