Joey Deadcat Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Now The Prisoner is my favorite 60s series and one of my all-time favorite tv series. I should be skeptical about this and avoid catching it when it does air. However, I'm willing to give it a chance and see how it will be interpreted. http://www.amctv.com/originals/the-prisoner/
phee Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 One of the best TV shows ever IMO And I am sure they will have a hard time improving on it
Joey Deadcat Posted July 23, 2009 Author Posted July 23, 2009 (edited) One of my favorite scenes from the original... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWRmf1EnGzg Wonder if the remake will have that same surreal-ness to it. Edited July 23, 2009 by Joey Deadcat
Joey Deadcat Posted July 24, 2009 Author Posted July 24, 2009 From what I understand, this new series will be reflecting the current social/political climate in it's theme.
Jacques Treatment Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 I'm going to put my helmet on and get my barf bag ready for this hardcore suckfest. (Can you tell I have lowered expectations?) --J, it was a matter of personal choice
phee Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Who the FUCK can they pick that would be anywhere near as good as McGoohan????
StormKnight (1) Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Can they keep up with the perpetual mind-screw that the original series is known for?
Jacques Treatment Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Who the FUCK can they pick that would be anywhere near as good as McGoohan???? Christopher Eccleston could do it. Jack Coleman (the guy who played "Noah Bennet" on "Heroes") could do it (or play a GREAT Number Two). If you got the guys who put together "Nowhere Man" together with the guys that put together "Heroes," you could get a really incredible show. The BIG problem is where you would SET the damn thing! --J, offering his back yard
Joey Deadcat Posted July 26, 2009 Author Posted July 26, 2009 Who the FUCK can they pick that would be anywhere near as good as McGoohan???? True, true.
Joey Deadcat Posted November 17, 2009 Author Posted November 17, 2009 Thread necromancy but the series has made its debut last night. Hopefully, there will be several rebroadcasts as I missed it. Anyone else catch it? Again, it can't touch the original but I'm still willing to give this series "re-imagining" a chance.
