A friend has a swine flu thing on Facebook... he is really obsessive about it... but yeah it's getting pretty scary. Following pretty much the same pattern as the 1918 Spanish flu. The government deciding not to keep track of deaths after they hit 300+ is a VERY ominous sign.

the way their dealing with it here is you stay in your home and alert the NHS to your condition via phone or on-line, from there flu meds will be arranged to be collected by third party and posted through the letterboxes (our mailboxes are through the doors)

Sounds quite sensible and workable... requires people with a sense of duty and care for others, though, which all too many people here lack.

Yes it does! Very impressive, prevents it from spreading and you don't have to try to drag yourself out while really sick and sit in a crowded emergency room. I had to do that a few years ago and it was the most miserable experience. I wish we had something similar.
