Simon Bar Sinister Posted August 24, 2009 Author Posted August 24, 2009 hey, we can really use the $$$!
StormKnight (1) Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 I know, but still...a remake of Red Dawn.
phee Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 This goes into the catagory of remakes that should not be..... Much like remake of Psycho.... and Carrie.
drcarstairs Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Good God! Is there an ounce of creativity left in Hollyweird? This isn’t even relevant now – back in 1984 the Soviets were a credible (if overblown) threat. Now neither the Russians nor the Chinese (Who hate each other way more than they hate us BTW) have any desire to invade the US. The Russians, well the most they want to do is dominate our drug trade and organized criminal networks – the Chinese just want to sell us crappy lead-based toys and toxic milk substitutes. But actually invade? I guess they don’t have the stones to make a relevant flick – like an invasion by Middle Eastern fanatics; or even more likely by those damn Canadians and their oh-so superior health care. The Great White horde is poised right above us, and yet we sleep as if they don’t hate us and want to rape our men and force a single-payer system upon us! Wake up! But seriously, another crappy remake. I know the money in the local economy is good, I just wish they were doing somthing worthwhile - still the money is a good thing. Taking money from the criminally stupid is a noble and just occupation. Be Well.
Simon Bar Sinister Posted August 25, 2009 Author Posted August 25, 2009 I know, but still...a remake of Red Dawn. beggars can't be choosers...and right now, this town's begging
Marmee_Noir Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 I know, but still...a remake of Red Dawn. My sentiments also! None the less would be kick ass to go hang out by the set and get a sneak peak.... Maybe... lol
Simon Bar Sinister Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 They're shooting on Saginaw St. north of M-59. That's 2 blocks west of Clutch Cargo's for those not too familiar with the area.
Marmee_Noir Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Ooooh yay I know where Clutch Cargo's is.... Most def will have to check it out now...
prick Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 I for one welcome this. They might do a good job. It will be interesting to see who the invaders are. They cant very well make it the Soviets again. for one they are now are comrades and for two kinda weak now. Unless they do it setting place in the 80's. Might be neat to see it be the middle east and possibly North Korea.
Simon Bar Sinister Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 this time it's the Chinese. the movie's set in Spokane, WA; the director's using Pontiac as a stand-in. Btw, I think the director's the guy who did the Bourne movies.
n0Mad Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Btw, I think the director's the guy who did the Bourne movies. The first one or the next two? There were two different directors.
Simon Bar Sinister Posted September 4, 2009 Author Posted September 4, 2009 never saw any of 'em, so I didn't know that. must be the guy who made the first one 'cause I'm pretty dang sure it isn't Paul Greengrass doing this one.
Simon Bar Sinister Posted September 19, 2009 Author Posted September 19, 2009 this has started, btw. no idea what the film crew's schedule is, though.
Fidget(+) Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 -crosses fingers- I just hope they do a good job of it.
EvilEve Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 they came to Mt.Clemens sometime within the past week or so to shoot for this thing too. had streets and bars blocked off so they could shoot the scene.... full moon that night too.
prick Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 (edited) Love the idea of this remake or hate it. We all know most of us are going to go see this film. Edited September 20, 2009 by prick

Simon Bar Sinister Posted January 7, 2010 Author Posted January 7, 2010 release is set for Thanksgiving 2010 weekend!
Simon Bar Sinister Posted August 19, 2010 Author Posted August 19, 2010 *bump* OK, there's a release date of November 24...but since MGM's currently in bankruptcy, it's anyone's guess as to whether or not it actually happens.
