Reaper Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 What are your predictions on how this year will play out? Also discussions on players is also welcome. And in my opinion from what I have seen so far, seems to be fair to say that they will at least win a game lol. But this is preseason and things can change drastically as they have in the past. So far I think Matt Stafford isn't quite ready to be the starting QB. So my prediction for the season out of 16 games will be 5 wins, 11 losses. There are just too many other teams that look really good this year.
Slogo Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Good estimation. I think they're better, doesn't mean a whole lot. As long as we aren't in last place, I'll be happy. GO LIONS and if that isn't the case (most likely) GO PATS (I liked them since they had Bledsoe, so I'm not a bandwagoner.)
Simon Bar Sinister Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 I'll say 4 - 12. they have a brutal schedule with games against quite a few playoff contenders.

Yeah, I have liked the Patriots too when Detroit has been out of the picture. Kinda like rooting for my U of M football team and anyone else who is playing Ohio State lol
Simon Bar Sinister Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 seems that all 3 QBs did good yesterday and, more importantly, that the O-line actually protected each of them. I want to see that happen for at least a month in the real season before they even think about starting Stafford.
Tacohitts Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 No matter how you look at it The Lions suck. IMO better ownership, anyone but Ford that is,might help the team.
Simon Bar Sinister Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Matt Stafford got the starting QB job. Culpepper better heal up in a hurry. I still don't trust the O-line, and I'd rather not see the kid take an NFL-style beating just yet.
prick Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 On the brite side they cannot do worse then last year.
StormKnight (1) Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 On the bright side they cannot do worse then last year. Oh, great, now you jinxed them...
Simon Bar Sinister Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 the D-line looks just as bad as last year's. The Lions could give up 30+ points per fucking game.

Slogo Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Watch them one time. It looks like they are playing a game that is nothing like football In retrospect they looked better than last year. Not tough to do but they did it. And the Saints are a damn good team
prick Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 They lost and their defense was the worse part of the game but I think they are improved from last year. A rookie quarterback wont win them many games but hopefully with a few seasons he could become something. No one goes to the superbowl after coming off such a horrible year before. they need to build a team which will take time, good drafts and picking up good free agents. Lets hope the coaching staff is worth a damn too.
DarkVampire Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Their defense sucks and so does their protection. Matt is great, or would be if he had a better team. I've seen him play for Georgia and he was damn good then.
Simon Bar Sinister Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 They lost again (now there's a surprise), but they actually looked like an NFL team for most of the game. Not a good NFL team, but an NFL team nonetheless.
prick Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 they looked damn good the first half. now if they just learn there are two halfs.
Slogo Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 It looks like they are trying to play the sport of football
DarkVampire Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 They should have stayed on the field during the half. It all went down hill starting in the 3rd quarter.
prick Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 Well they have the record for most losses in a single season but they now cant get the record for most consecutive losses. I believe its the Raiders who hold that at like 24 straight.
phee Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 I heard the Lions won today, I'm amazed. Not quite hell freezing over... but there maybe a small coldfront moving in
Guest Megalicious Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Ummm, they beat the RS and they still almost lost.... *laughs* I wouldn't call that a win, but when you are the Lions, I guess a win is a win. JFC.
KatRN05 Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 I guess we will take whatever win they get. The Wings won their game yesterday.
