Extremely poor quality clip from my misspent youth. My old buddies the Crucifucks doing their smash hit "Hinckley Had a Vision". This was shot in June 1982 at Dodger's House... a condemned farmhouse out in Williamston (I think). If you look real close you can see me go skanking across the front right before the music picks up at 1:46... that's me in the denim jacket. The tall dude with the cap is my first hubby Billee. I suspect you prolly can't make out much of this unless you were there...

Crucifucks: Hinkley had a Vision Lyrics:

Can you believe we're being plagued by religion

still?

These Christians aren't about to give up.

It's the same countless fools go on and on and on

and on and...

Closest thing to witches I've ever

seen, let's get out the gas and set them on fire!

Aw teach me how to pray good christian.

If it works you'll all be dead. we'll see the secret to

salvation,

For me it's when you're dead, you're

dead, you're dead.

I can't believe they're

serious, superstitious spastic fools.

They live

for everlasting life, and ruin my life here on

earth.

They must be so intelligent, to know so

much more than me...

I wanna take the president,

chop off his head, and mail it to them in a

garbage bag.

Hinkley had a vision, Hinkley had a

vision.

Saw them at least twice. Maybe three times.

Blast form the past. :wink

Attended Catholic high school during the 2nd half of the 80s and a friend of mine would always write their name on the desks. :)

Cops For Fertilizer was my fave Crucifucks song :D

remember the Graystone? On Michigan west of Livernois? I'm trying to remember who it was that had so many guitar amps & speaker cabinets that they took up the entire stage; the band had to set up everything else (including the drumkit & monitors) on the floor in front of the stage! Wanna say the Cro-Mags, but I'm not sure.

The Butthole Extravaganza! Butthole Surfers, 4 straight sold-out nights at the Graystone, 3 completely different opening bands each night.

Last time I drove by there (mid-'90s), it was a storefront church, lol!

Ah, Graystone - Southwest Detroit's only punk venue. :)

I saw Black Flag at the Graystone... I remember sitting on the stage with Henry Rollins lying across my lap, holding the mike for me while I howled out "Damaged"...

And someone stole my hand-painted Crucifucks jacket (upside down cross with spurting penis head- got me kicked out of a few parties back then).

And there was a hilarious movie-style fight outside... these guys start dukin' it out in the party store... they knock over a display rack so there's Twinkies all over the place... they kind of roll out into the street and then this other dude comes running up out of nowhere and breaks a beer bottle over one guy's head... gawd it was funny, we were laughing the rest of the night.

Ah, those were the days...

I remember the Greystone too. Saw Minutemen there once. They were awesome. I saw another show or two there but I can't remember what now. Hmmm...

I remember when the parking lot of the bank next to the Graystone would be filled with punkers waiting for the door to open.

I envy one of my aunts for catching the Misfits there way back.

Misfits... saw them at the Freezer Theater down in the pre-Wayne State renewal Cass Corridor. One of them hit me in the face with his guitar. Great show, though.

"Candy apples and razor blades/little dead are soon in graves/I remember Halloweeeeeeeen..."

Me back then:

Makes me think of the flyer exhibition few years back at...where was it? The warehouse kinda place...any case there was a showing of different flyers for Detroit punk gigs dating back as early as '79, I believe. It was almost like opening a time capsule.

My flyer collection fell by the wayside sometime in the late '90s... I suspect Second Hubby Rick sold them for dope money. I had quite a stack... flyers & set lists... sigh. So add those to the list of stuff I shot up over the years.
